A magnetic flowmeter assembly is provided having a tubular body, having opposing open ends and defining a fluid flow path therebetween along a longitudinal axis (Ax). A pair of coil assemblies is coupled to the tubular body in an intermediate region thereof supported by an adjustable brace. A pair of measuring electrodes is attached to the tubular body in electrical communication with the fluid with the flow path and aligned along an axis (Ay) orthogonal to the longitudinal axis (Ax) and orthogonal to the axis (Az). Auxiliary electrodes are disposed upstream and downstream of the pair of measuring electrodes.

A system and related method is provided for correcting measurement glitches detected by a magnetic flowmeter assembly in determining a fluid flow velocity. The magnetic flowmeter assembly includes a pair of electrodes that receive an instantaneous first and second electrode potential (voltage potential), Ueand Ue, so as to determine an instantaneous induced voltage Ue across the fluid. A signal processor sends a digital signal of the induced voltage (voltage signal Ue) to a micro-processor, which processes the signal data and computes the corresponding instantaneous fluid velocity, v. Moreover, an instantaneous glitch detection variable Um is computed based on the electrode potentials (Ueand Ue), so as to detect the presence of measurement glitches in said electrode potentials, wherein the signal processor will provide a digital signal of Um to the micro-processor. As such, the flowmeter assembly is able to correct for the measurement glitches by manipulating the instantaneous voltage signal Ue, such that the computed and displayed fluid flow velocity is not skewed by said measurement glitches.

A magnetic flow meter assembly having a tubular body that has two opposing ends that define a fluid flow path therebetween for a conductive fluid. The magnetic flow meter assembly further includes a pair of coil assemblies which are configured to pass current as received from voltage regulators via a first and second coil driver. The coil assemblies can therefore generate a magnetic field wherein a pair of measuring electrodes detect a voltage induced by the conductive fluid passing through said magnetic field. Moreover, the coil assemblies are each electrically coupled with at least one sensor that provides feedback to a respective voltage regulator via a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller configured to minimize the error between a respective measured current and a target current. The respective voltage regulators can use the received feedback to manipulate the current passing through the corresponding coil assembly to enabling a prescribed magnetic field to be created within the fluid flow for accurate flow measurement.

A colorimetric analyzer includes a reaction chamber configured to receive a sample and at least one reagent. A measurement cell is operably coupled to the reaction chamber. The colorimetric analyzer has an illumination source configured to emit illumination at a first wavelength during a first absorbance measurement and at a second wavelength during a second absorbance measurement. The colorimetric analyzer also includes an illumination detector spaced from the illumination source such that illumination from the illumination source passes through the measurement cell to the illumination detector. A controller is coupled to the illumination source and the illumination detector. The controller is configured to detect an obstruction of light between the illumination source and the illumination detector based on the first and the second absorbance measurements.

A temperature-stabilized LED irradiance system is provided. The system includes an LED. A temperature sensor is disposed to sense a temperature proximate the LED. Circuitry coupled to the temperature sensor and the LED, is configured to adjust power to the LED based on the sensed temperature.

An online colorimetric analyzer that generates an indication of a material in a sample is provided. The analyzer includes a peristaltic pump configured to convey. A photometric cell is operably coupled to the peristaltic pump to receive the sample. An illumination source is disposed to direct illumination through the sample in the photometric cell along an angle of incidence. A photodetector disposed to receive illumination passing through the photometric cell along the angle of incidence and provide a signal indicative of a color of the sample. A controller is coupled to the illumination source, the photodetector and the peristaltic pump. The photometric cell is tilted relative to vertical such that a surface of liquid present when the photometric cell is partially filled substantially reflects the illumination away from the angle of incidence.

There is provided a multi-stage variable orifice flow obstruction sensor for measuring a fluid flow. The sensor comprises a body member having an aperture therethrough. Moreover, a cover member is engaged to the body member and is disposed within the aperture. The cover member is adapted to transition between open and closed positions with respect to the aperture. Additionally, a flow-limiting obstruction member is engaged to the body member and is disposed within the aperture adjacent the cover member. The flow-limiting member is configured to apply a generally opposing force to the cover member when the cover member extends to the open position and contacts the flow-limiting member. By doing so, a pressure differential of the fluid may be sensed such that the fluid flow can be measured therefrom.
