An active desk includes a base having a convex surface defining at least one rocking path; a frame coupled to the base at an opposite end from the convex surface; a desk mounted to the frame; and a seat mounted to the frame at a location spaced between the base and the desk. A study seat includes a base; a frame extending upwardly from the base; a desk mounted to the frame and laterally offset from the base; and a seat mounted to the frame and laterally offset from the desk.

Buckles for use in exercise assemblies employing force restorative exercise straps. A looped component and a hooked component of the buckle hold the exercise strap. The looped component and the hooked component can be pivotally mounted to each other. The buckle can hold the strap in two orientations, on an end of a looped strap, or at an adjustable position of the looped strap.

A jump rope includes an elongated flexible member (e.g., a rope) that extends between two handle arrangements. The elongated flexible member can be stored within the handle arrangements. For example, each handle arrangement can hold a spool on which a portion of the flexible member can be wound. The portions of the flexible member can be automatically retracted within the handles.

A pressure-mounted gate includes a first panel extending horizontally. A second panel is slidably coupled to the first panel. The second panel extends horizontally. A locking mechanism is coupled to the first panel and the second panel. The locking mechanism facilitates a widening of the gate by a ratcheting structure. The locking mechanism locks a position of the first panel and the second panel at a desired gate width.

A trunk lift assessment device includes a tower extending upwardly from a base; an arm extending outwardly from the tower, a gauge disposed at the tower, and an indicator coupled to the first end of the arm so that the indicator moves relative to the gauge when the arm is pivoted relative to the tower. The arm is configured to remain fixed relative to the tower when no external force is applied to the second end of the arm. The arm also is configured to pivot relative to the tower when an external force is applied to the second end of the arm.

A game apparatus involving launching and catching of a game piece includes a pincer tool having first and second opposed members that are articulatable with respect to one another to capture the game piece between the articulatable members, and to also accelerate the game piece radially outwardly from a pivot region. The pincer tool of the game apparatus therefor acts to launch the game piece merely through relative articulation of the opposed first and second members toward one another while the game piece is in contact with both of the first and second members.
