A method of deploying an expandable composition in a cement top job in a well system includes identifying evidence of actual or potential gas migration within an annulus cement of the well system. Once the evidence of gas migration is identified, a first component and a second component are mixed in a mixer to form the expandable composition and the expandable composition is pumped from the mixer through a conduit to a top of cement of the annulus cement. The expandable composition expands to form an expanded composition that seals the annulus above the top of cement of the annulus cement. Cement can be added onto the expanded composition.

A method of making a hydraulic fracturing slurry can include contacting an aqueous solution comprising calcium ions with a carbon dioxide source producing a carbonated aqueous solution. Substrate particles can be submerged in the carbonated aqueous solution to produce a calcium carbonate coated proppant wherein the carbon dioxide is sequestered in the calcium carbonate. The calcium coated proppant can be combined with hydraulic fracturing fluid to produce a hydraulic fracturing slurry. Alternatively, the calcium carbonate coated proppant can be combined with silica sand to produce a proppant composition used in a hydraulic fracturing slurry.

A wellhead bracing system for a subsea well includes a base plate assembly and a wellhead brace assembly. The base plate assembly comprises a top surface, a bottom surface, a base plate aperture, and a plurality of anchor holes. The wellhead brace assembly comprises a vertical plate assembly having a cylindrical shape, a horizontal plate assembly to which the vertical plate assembly is attached, and a vertical support assembly attached to an outer surface of the vertical plate assembly and attached to the top surface of the horizontal plate assembly. Horizontal plate holes of the horizontal plate assembly are configured to attach to studs on the top surface of the base plate to secure the wellhead brace assembly to the base plate assembly. The wellhead bracing system slides onto a wellhead of the subsea well and braces an exterior of the wellhead.

Dimensions of a tool moving in/out of a well may be measured during well operations. The measured dimensions of the tool may be used to analyze the well operations. Analysis of well operations may include identification of types of well operations being performed at the well, monitoring of the well operations, benchmarking of the well operations, identification of tools being used in the well operations, and/or other analysis of the well operations.

A method of making a cement composite can include contacting an aqueous solution comprising calcium ions with a carbon dioxide source producing a carbonated aqueous solution. Fine particles can be submerged in the carbonated aqueous solution to produce microaggregate particles comprising the fine particles coated with calcium carbonate. The microaggregate particles can be combined with cement particles to produce the cement composite. The cement composite can be used in cementing applications for hydrocarbon wells including for casing liners and well plugs.

The present disclosure provides methods and systems for hydrofracturing processes utilizing native drilling cuttings to enhance wellbore permeability. The native drilling cuttings are obtained during drilling operations and may be used in hydrofracturing applications without further grinding or processing. The native drilling cuttings can be combined into a slurry and injected into a well for the hydrofracturing application. In some cases, the native drilling cuttings are dried before combining them with the slurry.

Sensors may be located remotely from a rig of a well. The sensors may operate independently of the rig, and generate remote sensor information that characterizes operating characteristics of the well independent of the rig. The operation of the well may be analyzed based on the remote sensor information.
