The handle assembly includes a pair of tabs protruding through the at least one trim piece toward the receiving space along the transverse direction. The pair of tabs engage the top edge of the front glass panel along the vertical direction.

Locating features for a front panel of a domestic appliance door

An appliance door includes an inner door panel with a plurality of emboss locators and an outer door panel with a plurality of emboss locators. The outer door panel mounts to the inner door panel, and a plurality of handle brackets mount to the outer door panel. Additionally, each of the plurality of emboss locators of the inner door panel is engaged with a respective one of the plurality of emboss locators of the outer door panel.

The door may extend along the vertical direction in the closed position between a top lip and a bottom lip. The handle may be provided on the door proximal to the top lip. The handle may define an upper surface directed away from the bottom lip, the upper surface being a complementary match to the underside surface of the top panel.

The ice making appliances and methods of making ice may include obtaining ice mold identifier data from the ice mold. Ice mold identifier may be used to acquire operating parameters of the ice making appliance specific to that ice mold from an external communication network. The operating parameters may be used to adjust operation of the appliance, such as the volume of water to dispense for that particular mold.
