A method of forming a part with a solid urethane elastomer skin is provided, wherein the mold is moved by a mold manipulation tool to present differently oriented surfaces of the mold in a horizontal orientation when the urethane elastomer is sprayed on each of the differently oriented surfaces. A multi-axis robot is provided with a spray head that sprays the urethane elastomer onto a mold surface. A mold manipulator moves the mold that has a plurality of differently oriented mold surfaces so that the surface to be sprayed is held in a horizontal orientation as they are coated with the urethane elastomer and for a predetermined time period after spray coating until the urethane elastomer sets up.

A mold for assembling and forming a wire harness preferably includes wire supports extending into a continuous trough which forms a main trunk and a plurality of branches extending from the main trunk. A port introduces a generally liquid sheath material into the trough of the mold. Wires are routed on the wire supports along the main trunk and branches of the trough in the mold. The sheath material is then introduced into the mold and cures around and among the plurality of wires.

The method is an injection molded vinyl process that utilizes a two-piece insert in the main body of the armrest which allows foam to be introduced into the upper portion and inboard side where the user's arm rest. This method produces a more comfortable armrest that also is more visually pleasing and one that can be produced at a lower cost than known armrests of this type.

An improved armrest used in vehicles where the armrest is affixed to the vehicle door and also serves as a grab-handle to enable the passenger to pull the door closed.
