The invention relates to novel linear, semi-crystalline, functional fluoropolymers that have been obtained by copolymerizing a fluorinated vinylic monomer and a hydrophilic monomer chosen from vinyl alkyl acids, vinyl phosphonates, functional acrylamides, carbonates, vinyl ethers, alkoxy compounds, and double hydrophilic group monomers.

Functional fluoropolymers

Copolymers of one or more halogenated olefins and one or more halogenated co-monomers selected from the group consisting of halogenated alkenyl ethers, halogenated alkenyl esters, and halogenated (meth)acrylates are useful in various end-use applications wherein the presence of halogen (e.g., fluorine) in the copolymer imparts one or more desirable properties, as compared to analogous copolymers not containing halogen.

Copolymers of halogenated olefins and halogenated co-monomers

The invention relates to a novel film, membrane or powder media made from fluoropolymers, especially PVDF-based and ETFE-based polymers, which are suitable for separating gases, especially carbon dioxide, from a gas mixture. The novel film has good selectivity, high permeance, good mechanical properties, and exhibits a high resistance to oxidant and acid attack. The separation film is especially useful in harsh and corrosive environments.

Fluoropolymer gas separation films

The invention relates to a method for making copolymers of 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene and vinylidene fluoride by an emulsion polymerization process having unexpectedly high melting temperatures, even at low crystallinity levels. The invention involves adjusting the microstructure of the copolymers through a controlled polymerization to obtain controlled microstructure copolymers with unique properties, including those with high melting temperature and low crystallinity.

High melting fluoropolymers

The invention relates to a method for synthesizing 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene containing fluoropolymers using non-fluorinated surfactants in an emulsion process. No fluorinated surfactants are used in the process, and a persulfate initiator is used as the primary initiator. The process produces high molecular weight copolymers.
