An electronic device, method, and computer program product support sharing of a cross-view by a first communication device in a communication session with a second communication device. First semantic inputs by a first participant are communicated to the second communication device for presenting to a second participant. Second semantic inputs by the second participant are communicated to the first communication device for presenting to the first participant. The first communication device presents first visual content selected by the first participant. The second communication device presents second visual content presented by the second participant. In response to determining that the semantic input(s) are associated with the visual content, the first communication device communicates a duplicate copy of the first visual content to the second communication device. The first communication device receives a duplicate copy of the second visual content from the second communication device, as a cross view to enhance discussion.

Peer managed automated dual screen sharing based on associating semantic inputs and viewed visual content

In aspects of remote assistance via video conferencing, a manager device establishes a connection to a video conferencing call and sends a device control request that requests control of a managed device also on the video conferencing call. The manager device displays a screen view of the managed device on a display of the manager device based on a device control response from the managed device approving the device control request. The manager device detects a touch input at the display of the manager device and sends, to the managed device, position information of the touch input relative to a coordinate of the display of the manager device and/or relative to a coordinate of the display of the managed device. The manager device receives feedback that confirms the position information of the touch input is implemented as a touch event at the managed device.

Remote assistance via video conferencing

An electronic device, method, and computer program product support automatically selecting cross-view screen sharing for a secure peer-to-peer application during a communication session. A processor of a first electronic device executes application(s) to present a first user interface at a first display of the first electronic device. The first electronic device establishes a secure peer-to-peer connection for wireless communication, via a communication subsystem, with a second electronic device having a second display. The first electronic device enables a cross-view mode. The electronic device transmits a duplicate copy of the first user interface to the second electronic device for presenting at the second display. The first electronic device receives, from the second electronic device, a duplicate copy of a second user interface being presented at the second display. The first electronic device presents, at the first display, the duplicate copy of the second user interface concurrently with the first user interface.

Secure peer-to-peer application cross-view screen sharing

An electronic device, method, and computer program product support automatic sharing of a cross-view by a network device hosting a communication session for first and second communication devices. The first communication device presents first visual content that is selected by a first participant. The second communication device presents second visual content that is selected by a second participant. First semantic inputs by the first participant are communicated to the second communication device for presenting to the second participant. Second semantic inputs by the second participant are communicated to the first communication device for presenting to the first participant. In response to determining that the semantic input(s) are associated with the visual content, the network device communicates a duplicate copy of the first visual content to the second communication device and a duplicate copy of the second visual content to the first communication device, as a cross view to enhance discussion.
