An electronic linear motor particularly for use with loudspeakers includes first and second annular counterfacing air gaps centered on a motor axis. An armature and spider carry first and second voice coils in the first and second annular air gaps, respectively. A rigid link connects the armature and an output device, such as a loudspeaker cone. A releasable coupling attaches either or both ends of the rigid link to an adjacent armature or output device.

Repairable electromagnetic linear motor for loudspeakers and the like

A loudspeaker having an annular speaker cone with a central orifice, a voice coil bobbin attached to the annular speaker cone and a permanent magnet for producing a magnetic field in an air gap. A dust barrier blocks the transfer of material, such as magnetically attracted dust, through the central orifice into the air gap.

Loudspeaker system with dust protection

A modularized loudspeaker enclosure having an open-ended enclosure body, a loudspeaker support at one open end and an end structure at the other end. The enclosure body can be modified to alter the volume of the enclosure. A finally assembled enclosure can be sealed or ported. In one embodiment, the enclosure body includes a cylindrical tube cut to a length that provides a desired volume. In another embodiment the enclosure comprises standard corner, wall and end structures that constitute a component set for a constant length enclosure that can have different cross section areas.

Loudspeaker enclosure

A compound driver acoustic transducer. A frame supports a motion generator to one side of two diaphragms. An intermediate diaphragm is continuous and is driven by the motion generator. The intermediate diaphragm forms a closed volume with a solid portion of the frame that opens into a central opening through the other, open diaphragm. An axially rigid coupling connects the two diaphragms so they operate in unison.

Compound driver for acoustical applications

A speaker system with a dual cone speaker having interconnected primary speaker and secondary speaker cones. An enclosure defines a first sub-chamber for interacting with the rear of the first speaker cone and a second sub-chamber for interacting with the rear of the second speaker cone. The sub-chambers may be sealed sub-chambers, ported sub-chambers or acoustic waveguides.

Loudspeaker system

A dual-cone loudspeaker includes a primary speaker cone and an axially displaced secondary speaker cone mounted to the back of a magnet structure. A rigid link causes both cones to move in unison. The rigid link includes an open support structure with equiangularly extending spokes that form a central hub. A ring circumscribes the spokes and ataches to the first speaker cone. A rigid element connects to the spokes and the secondary speaker cone so the primary and secondary speaker cones move in unison and improve the bass response for the loudspeaker. The rigid coupling device is also adapted to support a high frequency radiator to extend the overall loudspeaker frequency response into higher frequencies.

Dual cone loudspeaker

A system for generating a high pressure fluid jet includes a variable pressure pump and a burst resistant delivery tube which safely conducts the pressurized stream to an instrument. The pump includes a disposable diaphragm pump cartridge which is driven by a reusable pump. The delivery tube may be a coiled hypo tube which enhances flexibility.

Fluid jet cutting system

A hand tightenable connector provides a high pressure seal between a first element and a second element. A first female element includes a recess for supporting a compressible O-ring and a second male element includes a ferrule which deforms the O-ring in the recess when the male and female elements are mated. The ferrule abuts against the surface defining the opening of the O-ring recess so that a high pressure seal is effected between the first and second elements without severely distorting the O-ring. The connector may be used to couple various components of a high pressure fluid delivery system such as are found in a jet cutting system.
