Methods and systems are provided for a hinge knee system. A hinge knee system may comprise a femoral component; an insert; a tibial tray configured to be coupled to the insert; a tibial bushing configured to be disposed between the tibial tray and the insert; a poly locking screw configured to secure the tibial tray to the insert; a hinge box configured to be disposed between the femoral component and the insert; one or more cross-pin bushings configured to be disposed within the hinge box; a cross-pin configured to secure the hinge box to the femoral component; a hinge post configured to couple the hinge box to the tibial tray; and a hinge post set screw configured to secure the hinge box to the hinge post.

Hinge joint system with distal femoral replacement prosthetic knee

Knee prosthesis includes a femoral component adapted to fit on a distal end of the femur and a tibial insert component. The femoral component includes a measured anterior/posterior dimension defined by the posterior condyle surface and the interior surface of the anterior flange and a distal peg provided on a distal bone facing surface of each of the lateral and medial condylar structures, wherein the distal pegs are positioned at a midpoint of the measured anterior/posterior dimension. The implant system provides two distinct sizing segments and the tibial insert has a medial tibial aspect ratio of 0.74 and a lateral tibial aspect ratio of 0.65 to 0.68 for all sizes.

Apparatus and methods are disclosed to hold a bone piece in position relative to a host bone for attachment or re-attachment purposes. A body having a plurality of claws extending therefrom engages with the bone piece, at least one of the claws including a mechanism facilitating a first position wherein the claw is opened to fit onto the bone piece and a second position wherein the claw is actively urged into the bone piece. Depending upon the embodiment, the mechanism may include a claw-bearing member having one or more barbs, a claw-bearing member having teeth that engage with a gear, or a threaded post having a pointed end which is tightened through a portion of the body and locked into a desired position with the point actively urged into the bone. In yet a further embodiment of the invention, the claws of the device are pre-biased in a closed or gripping position, and a tool is used to temporarily spread the claws to fit over the bone piece, after which the tool is released, allowing the claws to dig into the surface of the bone.
