An aerosol-generating device is disclosed. The aerosol-generating device includes comprising an inner wall and an outer wall, wherein the inner wall defines an insert space configured to accommodate insertion of an aerosol-generating member, and wherein a chamber configured to store liquid is defined between the inner wall and the outer wall; a wick disposed at an end of the insert space; a heater configured to heat the wick; a passage formed between the insert space and the wick; and an infrared sensor disposed adjacent to the insert space.

An aerosol-generating device is disclosed. The aerosol-generating device includes a housing; a cartridge disposed in the housing and including a first container and a second container which are rotatably coupled, wherein the second container includes a plurality of chambers which are isolated from each other; a dial gear disposed in the housing and configured to rotate about a rotating shaft parallel to a rotating shaft of the second container; and a cartridge gear coupled to the second container and engaged with the dial gear such that rotation of the dial gear causes rotation of the second container via the cartridge gear.

An aerosol-generating device is disclosed. The aerosol-generating device of the present disclosure includes a first container configured to accommodate an aerosol-generating substance, a heater configured to heat the aerosol-generating substance, a second container configured to be rotatable about a rotating shaft thereof and including a plurality of partitioned chambers, a first sensor configured to output a signal indicating rotation of the second container, and a controller configured to determine whether the plurality of chambers is located at preset correct positions based on a signal received from the first sensor.

An aerosol-generating device is disclosed. The aerosol-generating device of the present disclosure includes a body having formed therein a first insertion space; a heater configured to heat the first insertion space; a sensing circuit connected to the heater; and a sensor configured to detect a change in a magnetic field of the sensing circuit, wherein the sensing circuit comprises a first part, a second part, and a third part which are each electrically conductive, wherein the first part and the second part are elongated with the third part extending between the first part and the second part to electrically connect the first part and the second part to each other, and wherein the sensor is disposed between the first part and the second part.

An aerosol-generating device is disclosed. The aerosol-generating device of the present disclosure includes a door configured to open and close an insertion space into which a stick is inserted, a hinge member connected to the door to allow the door to be pivoted in the direction in which the stick is inserted, a magnetic body disposed at the door, a magnetic sensor configured to sense a magnetic field, and a controller configured to determine whether the stick is inserted into the insertion space using the magnetic sensor.

An aerosol-generating device is disclosed. The aerosol-generating device of the present disclosure includes a cartridge, which includes an inner wall defining an insertion space into which a stick is inserted and a chamber formed between the inner wall and an outer wall to store an aerosol-generating substance, a wick, which is disposed adjacent to one end of the insertion space, which is elongated so as to be connected to the chamber, and which has formed therein a hollow portion, a heater, which is configured to heat the wick, and a probe member, which is elongated such that at least a portion thereof is disposed in the insertion space. An aerosol-generating device is disclosed. The aerosol-generating device of the present disclosure includes a first container configured to accommodate an aerosol-generating substance, a heater configured to heat the aerosol-generating substance, a second container configured to be rotatable about a rotating shaft thereof and including a plurality of partitioned chambers, a first sensor configured to output a signal indicating rotation of the second container, and a controller. The controller determines a chamber through which an aerosol generated in the first container passes, among the plurality of chambers, in response to a signal received from the first sensor.

An aerosol-generating device is disclosed. The aerosol-generating device includes a container having a first passage; a container head, which is disposed on the container and has a first outlet at a bottom surface to communicate with the first passage; a mouthpiece, which is pivotably connected to the container head and has a second passage; and a sealing cap projecting outwards from the mouthpiece, wherein the sealing cap closes the first outlet when the mouthpiece is pivoted to a first position, and the sealing cap opens the first outlet to allow the first outlet to communicate with the second passage when the mouthpiece is pivoted to a second position.

An aerosol-generating device including a wick configured to absorb an aerosol-generating substance, a heater configured to heat the wick, a sensor configured to sense a puff, and a controller. The controller performs control to heat the heater while puffs are sensed, and detects the temperature of the heater. Based on the temperature of the heater being equal to or higher than a predetermined threshold temperature, the controller interrupts the supply of power to the heater. Based on the temperature of the heater being lower than the threshold temperature, the controller determines whether it is necessary to change the threshold temperature. Based on a need to change the threshold temperature, the controller changes the threshold temperature based on the detected temperature of the heater.

Aerosol-generating device and operation method thereof

An aerosol-generating device including a cartridge including a first container having a cylindrical form including a hollow shaft such that liquid is containable between an inner surface of the first container and an outer surface of the hollow shaft; a second container rotatably coupled to the first container and which includes a plurality of chambers isolated from each other along a circumference of the second container; a wick extending through the hollow shaft in a diametrical direction of the hollow shaft; a coupling disc including a duct positioned between the first container and the second container to allow an upper end of the hollow shaft to communicate with the lower end of one of the plurality of chambers; and a first seal positioned around the duct between the first container and the coupling disc to seal the duct.

An aerosol-generating device is disclosed. The aerosol-generating device includes a cartridge having an inlet formed at a lower portion thereof; a housing, which has a reception space into which the cartridge is inserted; a base having a bottom surface and an inner circumferential surface, which surround a lower portion of the reception space, wherein the inner circumferential surface has a sensing hole; a flow sensor, which is disposed inside the housing, and is connected to the reception space through the sensing hole to detect air that flows toward the inlet from the base; and a flow guide, which projects upwards from the bottom surface of the base to surround the inlet, and is open toward the sensing hole.
