A battery pack includes: a plurality of battery cells arranged in rows that are parallel with a first axis, wherein the battery cells arranged in the rows adjacent to each other in a second axis crossing the first axis are forwardly or backwardly misaligned with each other with respect to the first axis; and a plurality of bus bars having a zigzag shape and forming a plurality of parallel modules by connecting corresponding ones of the battery cells arranged in the second axis in parallel.

Disclosed is a battery pack that makes it possible to decrease a lead time of an insulating tape attaching process, and re-attach an insulating member. The battery pack includes a plurality of battery cells, a protection circuit module that controls charging and discharging of the battery cells, a first connecting plate electrically connecting the battery cells to each other, a second connecting plate electrically connected to the first connecting plate, and bent from the first connecting plate; and an insulating member disposed between the battery cell and the first and second connecting plates. The insulating member includes a first region placed between neighboring ones of the battery cells, and a plurality of second regions that are bent from the first region and are placed on outer surfaces of the neighboring battery cells, respectively.

A rechargeable battery is disclosed. In one aspect, the battery includes first and second battery cells facing each other and a case comprising first and second insertion portions, into which the first and second battery cells are respectively inserted. The case also includes a circuit accommodator formed between the first and second insertion portions and accommodating a protection circuit configured to control charging and discharging operations of the first and second battery cells.

Rechargeable battery

A secondary battery is disclosed. In one aspect, the battery includes a bare cell having a substantially prismatic shape, a first terminal located in a first region of a first surface of the bare cell and a second terminal located in a second region of the first surface of the bare cell. The battery also includes a first insulation tape located between the bare cell and the first terminal, wherein the first insulation tape covers the first surface of the bare cell, and second and third surfaces of the bare cell extending in a direction that crosses the first surface of the bare cell. The battery also includes a second insulation tape located between the first insulation tape and the first terminal.

Secondary battery

A secondary battery is disclosed. In one aspect, the battery includes first and second battery cells facing each other and a case comprising first and second cell accommodators respectively at least partially accommodating the first and second battery cells, and a circuit accommodator formed between the first and second cell accommodators and accommodating a protection circuit configured to control charging and discharging operations. The circuit accommodator has top and bottom surfaces opposing each other, and each of the first and second cell accommodators has top and bottom surfaces opposing each other. The top surface of the circuit accommodator has a downward step with respect to the top surfaces of the first and second cell accommodators.

A battery pack includes a region spaced a certain distance apart from a hole of a battery case. The region is different in surface roughness from the other regions of the battery case, and thus, a forming error of the hole may be visually detected, so as to decrease a condition setting time for controlling the forming error.

A case for a battery pack includes a first case member including a first sidewall, a first rib extending from the first sidewall, and a coupling hook disposed on the first rib and a second case member including a second sidewall, a second rib spaced from and parallel to the second sidewall, a coupling hole defined in the second rib and coupled to the coupling hook. The first rib includes a reinforcement part disposed on an inner surface thereof facing the second rib.
