Disclosed is a method of ensuring a service continuity based on a utility slice in case of a handover. The method includes receiving a handover request message from a source base station when a user equipment (UE) moves from a coverage of the source base station to that of a target base station, setting a session for the UE based on slice information included in the handover request message, and transmitting a handover request acknowledgment (ACK) message for the handover request message to the source base station, wherein the target base station may provide, when a service slice corresponding to a service provided from the source base station to the UE through a protocol data unit (PDU) session is not supported by the target base station, the service using a utility slice.

A method and an apparatus for fairly allocating resources to network users are provided. The method for fair resource allocation to network users allows the resource allocation apparatus to collect flow information between a user terminal and a service server and aggregates the flow information based on at least one of a user terminal address, a service server address, a user terminal, a service server address, and a service. Method and apparatus for fairly allocating resource to network users

Provided is an operational status testing apparatus and method for an Ethernet-based APS process. A test command signal which contains a command to perform an operational test for the APS process of a first node and a second test response signal that indicates that the operation of the APS process of a second node is performed normally, from among far end request signals that are received from the second node connected to own first node via an Ethernet network, are filtered. When the far end request signals are test command signals, a first test response signal that indicates that the operation of the APS process of the first node is performed normally is generated, and a top priority local request signal is selected based on priorities of the first test response signal and at least one local request signal that indicates the status of the APS process of the first node, and an output signal to be transmitted to the second node is determined based on priorities of the top priority local request signal and the filtered the far end request signal. The function for testing the operational status for the APS process defined in ITU-T recommendation G.8031 is embodied, and when an operational status test request is received from another node, the APS process can be tested effectively without having to perform a complicated diagnosis operation for the APS process.

Operational status testing apparatus and method for Ethernet-based automatic protection switching process

An apparatus and method for a redundancy control in duplex switch boards in a high speed network system are provided. The routing table management unit is used for modifying, creating, and deleting the table entries of the routing table storage unit. The apparatus includes: N input ports each of which for outputting maximum l cells in a time slot, wherein each of the N input ports includes N virtual output queues (VOQs) which are grouped in l virtual output queues group with n VOQs; N&#xd7;N switch fabric having lcrossbar switch units for scheduling cells inputted from N input ports based on a first arbitration function based on a round-robin, wherein l VOQ groups are connected to l XSUs; and N output ports connected to l XSUs for selecting one cell from l XSUs in a cell time slot by scheduling cells by a second arbitration function based on a backlog weighed round-robin, which operates independently of the first arbitration function, and transferring the selected cell to its output link.
