A display device includes: a display panel to display an image; a signal controller to determine whether an input image signal is a still image signal, and if the input image signal is a still image signal, further determine whether image switching occurs, and if image switching occurs, to compensate image data according to frame data after the image is switched by using data values of two pieces of frame data between which the image switching occurs; and a data driver to generate a data signal based on the image data and to output the data signal to the display panel.

Display device and driving method thereof

A liquid crystal display ('LCD') device includes a display panel, a data driving part, and at least one first light-blocking part and at least one second light-blocking part. The display panel includes a plurality of pixels and a plurality of data lines. The pixels are arranged in a column direction and a row direction. At least one of the data lines extends in a zigzag shape along the column direction to be discontinuously disposed between two adjacent columns of the pixels. The at least one data line is electrically connected to two of the pixels that are adjacent in the row direction. The second light-blocking part is thinner than the first light-blocking part. The first light-blocking part and the second light-blocking are repeatedly disposed on an area between two adjacent columns of the pixels. The data driving part applies a data signal to the data lines.

Liquid crystal display device

A gate driving circuit includes a plurality of stages which are connected to each other one after another and each stage of the plurality of stages outputs a gate voltage to a corresponding gate line of a plurality of gate lines in response to at least one clock signal. Each stage of the plurality of stages includes; a voltage output part which outputs the gate voltage, an output driving part which drives the voltage output part, a holding part which holds the gate line at an off-voltage, and a discharge part arranged at a first end of the gate line to discharge the gate line to the off-voltage in response to the gate voltage output from the voltage output part.
