An apparatus and method are provided for controlling a coordinate measuring apparatus including a first touch panel that detects a contact of a portion of a human body and a contact of a coordinate indicating apparatus, and a second touch panel for detecting an electromagnetic signal from the coordinate indicating apparatus. The method includes determining a detection state of the coordinate indicating apparatus based on the electromagnetic signal detected by the second touch panel; and determining an activated area of the first touch panel based on the detection state of the coordinate indicating apparatus.

A position measurement device for measuring a position of a pen is provided. The position measurement device includes a first sub-loop unit that includes at least one loop configured to apply an electrical current or measuring an electromagnetic field change; a second sub-loop unit having at least one loop configured to measure the electromagnetic field change; and a control unit configured to determine at least one loop of the first sub-loop unit as a transmission signal transmitting loop to thereby apply the electrical current to the transmission signal transmitting loop, and measure the position of the pen based on the electromagnetic field change measured by each of the at least one loop of the first sub-loop unit and each of the at least one loop of the second sub-loop unit.

A sensing apparatus and method are provided for determining an input point of a touch. A sensing loop unit includes at least one loop. Each of the at least one loop includes two sub-loops separated by a predetermined distance. An area determination loop unit determines one of the two sub-loops of each of the at least one loop that corresponds to the input point. A controller determines a plurality of candidates of the input point based on a first input signal from the sensing loop unit, and determines the input point from among the plurality of candidates of the input point based on a second input signal from the area determination loop unit.

Methods and apparatus are provided for determining an input position of a touch object. An input signal is received from the touch object, and one or more sensing signals are output. A resistance of each of one or more sub-loops is measured, and a resistance information lookup table is generated with each resistance value of a corresponding sub-loop of the one or more sub-loops. A bend-detecting (bending) sensor is provided, including a flexible substrate, at least a pair of electrode patterns spaced apart from each other provided on the flexible substrate, and a paste layer containing conductive particles. The paste layer is coated onto the flexible substrate where the electrode patterns are formed, such that when the flexible substrate is bent, the density of the conductive particles between the electrode patterns changes and an electric resistance between the electrode patterns also changes, thereby sensing deformation of the flexible substrate, and eventually, a target to which the flexible display element or the flexible substrate is attached. When the bending sensor is applied to the flexible display device, the electrode patterns and the paste layer may be formed on the flexible substrate which is to form the flexible display element, thus forming a bending sensing structure with a thickness of the flexible display element or less.

Photoelectric cross-connect system

Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for shortening a processing time at each node in an optical network. A transmission optical cross-connect (OXC) determines a transmission rate corresponding to the transmission speed of the signal to be transmitted. An optical receiver and an optical transmitter are stabilized by means of the transmission rate. In addition, a transmission OXC transmits the transmission rate to an OXC aligned between the transmission OXC and the receiving OXC, thereby stabilizing the OXC. Each of the OXCs detects the transmission speed of the optical signal to be received so that a time required for converting the transmission speed is reduced.
