The present disclosure relates to a power cable joint system capable of minimizing expansion, deformation or damage of a metal sheath restoration layer, which is formed of a material such as lead sheath, due to internal expansion due to heat generated in an intermediate connection part of the power cable joint system.

The present disclosure relates to an intermediate connection structure of a power cable, which is capable of reducing heating of a connecting part of conductors of a pair of power cables connected through a joint box, enhancing a connected state of the conductors, and minimizing a diameter of the conductor connection part.

A termination connection box for a direct-current (DC) cable, including: a connecting semiconducting layer configured to cover an exposed conductor of the DC cable and an insulating layer of the DC cable; a conductor withdrawal rod electrically connected to the exposed conductor of the DC cable; and a heat shrinkable tube formed of functionally gradient material having non-linear electrical characteristics. The heat shrinkable tube includes: a first end electrically connected to the conductor and which covers a portion of the conductor withdrawal rod and the connecting semiconducting layer; a second end opposite to the first end, electrically connected to the outer semiconducting layer, and which covers a portion of the outer semiconducting layer; and a middle portion positioned between the first end and the second end, and which is in direct contact with and covers an outer circumferential surface of the insulating layer.

Termination kit for DC cable

A power cable with a termination connection box. The power cable includes a conductor, an inner semiconducting layer, an insulating layer, and an outer semiconducting layer which are sequentially formed. The termination connection box includes: a porcelain tube configured to provide an inner space into which an end portion of the power cable from which portions of the outer semiconducting layer, the insulating layer, and the inner semiconducting layer are sequentially removed is inserted; and a reinforcing insulating layer configured to cover an outer side of the insulating layer of the power cable so as to reinforce dielectric strength of a portion of the power cable from which the portion of the outer semiconducting layer is removed and at which an electric field is thus concentrated.
