A separator assembly for a fuel cell able to prevent deformation of a separator due to a flow pressure of a reaction gas at a first reaction gas inlet, and a fuel cell stack including the same includes: a first separator on one face of which is formed with a first reactive surface over which first reaction gas flows to allow for first reaction gas and second reaction gas to react and on the other face of which is formed with a first cooling surface where cooling occurs; a second separator on one face of which is formed a second reactive surface positioned to face the first reactive surface of the first separator, over which second reaction gas flows to allow for first reaction gas and second reaction gas to react, and on the other face of which is formed a second cooling surface where cooling occurs; and a reinforcing plate which is positioned in a region of the first separator where first reaction gas enters, preventing deformation of the first separator.

Separator assembly for fuel cell and fuel cell stack including the same

A separator assembly for an air-cooled fuel cell includes: a cathode separator and an anode separator, each of which having a cooling surface bonded to each other to face each other. The separator assembly further includes a plurality of first gaskets having a ring shape configured to surround and seal a plurality of inlet manifolds and a plurality of outlet manifolds are disposed on a cooling surface of any one separator among the cooling surface of the cathode separator and the cooling surface of the anode separator. The plurality of first gaskets are configured to allow cooling air for cooling the cooling surface to flow between first gaskets adjacent to each other.

A method of manufacturing an Electricity-Generating Assembly (EGA) includes: preparing an electrolyte membrane including a central portion and a peripheral portion; providing a contact member to the peripheral portion of the electrolyte membrane; providing at least one of a first Gas Diffusion Electrode (GDE) including a reaction portion of a first Gas Diffusion Layer (GDL) and a first electrode layer or a second GDE including a reaction portion of a second GDL and a second electrode layer, on at least one central portion of the first surface of the electrolyte membrane or the second surface of the electrolyte membrane; and providing a gas diffusion portion of a respective GDL among the first and second GDLs on the contact member.

An apparatus of manufacturing an elastomeric cell frame for a fuel cell may include, as the apparatus of manufacturing the elastomeric cell frame including an insert in which a membrane electrode assembly and a gas diffusion layer have been bonded, and a sheet-like elastomeric frame made of a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) integrated into an external area of the insert to form the unit cell of the fuel cell, a lower jig module accommodated so that the overlapping area, in which the insert and the elastomeric frame overlap at a predetermined area, is accommodated, and an upper jig module mounted above the lower jig module to provide heat and pressure to the overlapping area to thermally bond an interface between the insert and the elastomeric frame in the overlapping area.
