A power transmission apparatus of a hybrid electric vehicle includes an input shaft configured of receiving an engine torque, a motor shaft configured of receiving a torque of a motor/generator, first and second planetary gear sets respectively having first to third rotation elements and fourth to sixth rotation elements, a first shaft connected to the first rotation element and selectively connectable to each of the input shaft and the motor shaft, a second shaft fixedly connecting the second and fifth rotation elements, and selectively connectable to the input shaft, the motor shaft, and a transmission housing, respectively, a third shaft fixedly connecting the third and fourth rotation elements and selectively connectable to the transmission housing, a fourth shaft fixedly connecting the sixth rotation element and an output gear, and a plurality of engagement elements including at least one clutch and at least one brake.

A powertrain for a hybrid vehicle includes: a complex planetary gear set including a first rotary element, a second rotary element, a third rotary element, and a fourth rotary element; an input shaft connected with an engine and installed to be able to be selectively connected to each of the first rotary element and the second rotary element of the complex planetary gear set; a motor generator connected to the first rotary element of the complex planetary gear set; a first brake installed to be able to fixedly connect the second rotary element of the complex planetary gear set to a transmission case; a second brake installed to be able to fixedly connect the third rotary element of the complex planetary gear set to the transmission case; and an output shaft connected to the fourth rotary element of the complex planetary gear set.

A powertrain for a hybrid vehicle may include a planetary gear set including five rotation elements, an input shaft connected to an engine and configured to be selectively connectable to a first rotation element and to a fourth rotation element of the planetary gear set, a motor generator connected to a second rotation element of the planetary gear set, an output shaft connected to a third rotation element of the planetary gear set, and a brake configured to selectively fix the fifth rotation element of the planetary gear set to a transmission housing.

A power train for a vehicle may include a differential case; a differential ring gear aligned to be concentric to the differential case, and provided in a relatively rotatable state therebetween; and a connection/disconnection mechanism provided to connect or disconnect the differential ring gear and the differential case in a state where power is transferred thereto.

A multi-stage automatic transmission in which planet gear mechanisms, external gears and friction elements are combined in order to realize nine forward gears and one rearward gear having excellent operating conditions for friction elements and superior shift range ratios, thereby achieving excellent power performance and fuel efficiency.
