Provided are a QR decomposition apparatus and method for a MIMO system. The QR decomposition apparatus includes: a norm calculator for calculating a vector size norm for a channel input; a Q column calculator for calculating a column value of a unitary matrix Q by multiplying a delayed channel input with &#x221a;{square root over (norm)}; an R row calculator for receiving the delayed channel input, the output of the Q column calculator, and 1/&#x221a;{square root over (norm)}, and calculating a row value of an upper triangular matrix R; a Q update calculator for receiving the delayed channel input, the output of the R row calculator, and a delayed output of the Q column calculator, and calculating a Q update matrix value; and a norm update calculator for receiving a delayed output of the norm calculator and an output of the R row calculator, and outputting a norm update matrix value.

QR decomposition apparatus and method for MIMO system

A multi-band internal antenna includes a top patch defining a first loop that defines a space therein and a first opening; a stub provided within the space defined by the first loop; a bottom patch provided below the top patch and having a first section and a second section connected to a feeder part and a shorting part, respectively, the bottom patch defining a second loop and second and third openings, the second and third openings being provided on opposing sides of the second loop so that the first and second sections of the bottom patch are separated from each other; and a first connecting part and a second connecting part connecting a first portion and a second portion of the top patch, respectively, to the first section and the second section of the bottom patch to transmit a signal from the bottom patch to the top patch.

A planar inverted F antenna having a radiation patch having an asymmetric shape of linearly-tapered rectangle with a plurality of corrugated hollows is disclosed. The planar inverted F antenna having a radiation patch, includes: a first radiation patch for radiating a signal; a ground plate for grounding the first radiation patch; a feeding line for supplying an electric power to the first radiation patch; a short plate having one side coupled to the first radiation patch and other side coupled to the ground plate for shorting the first radiation patch, wherein the first radiation patch having an asymmetrical shape of linearly tapered rectangle and has one or more corrugated hollows.
