A base station is configured to add a burst of a single-input multiple-output mode to a frame in a spatial multiplexing system. The system and method includes backing up a pilot pattern and a number of slots allocated for connections with terminals; releasing slots allocated for a burst; resetting a pilot pattern of a collaborative spatial multiplexing mode burst of the terminals: and recalculating the number of remaining slots; comparing the number of slots that can be additionally allocated to the single-input multiple-output mode with the number of slots released in the releasing step; and determining a transmission format.

A method for avoiding interference of an interfering Base Station (BS) in an interfered BS of a mobile communication system includes determining an interference value of an interfering BS at a control region during a determination interval. Apparatus and method for controlling interference via information exchange between base stations in communication system

A method and base station are provided for allocating a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) channel according to service flow types. The method allocates a DownLink (DL) HARQ channel by a base station to a mobile station which can be provided with data corresponding to at least one Service Flow (SF) in a wireless communication system. At least one of a plurality of HARQ channels is mapped to a first SF. It is determined whether to allocate the mapped at least one HARQ channel as a dedicated HARQ channel of the first SF based on whether traffic of the first SF exists in a transmission queue corresponding to the first SF. Therefore, dedicated HARQ channels for a delay intolerant SF, such as a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) SF, can be managed without loss of a maximum throughput for a delay tolerant SF such as a Best Effort (BE) SF.

Method and base station for allocating downlink HARQ channel in wireless communication system

An apparatus and a method for controlling a data transmission rate in a broadband wireless communication system are provided. In the method, an interference factor representing an interference degree by an external sector is measured. Interference given to the external sector is estimated using the interference factor, an interference weight depending on a location of a terminal, and an amount of wireless resource use of a self sector. A data transmission rate is determined with consideration of an interference estimation value and a wireless channel state of the terminal.
