The uneven pad includes a first conductive layer, a first organic layer disposed on the first conductive layer and having an upper surface having an uneven shape, and a second conductive layer disposed on the first organic layer.

A display panel includes a display area, a pad area adjacent to the display area, pixels disposed in the display area on a substrate, and pads disposed in the pad area on the substrate and electrically connected to pixels. A display device includes a display panel, a sensing structure, a sensing signal transfer film, and a side surface connection electrode structure. The display panel includes a first surface on which an image is displayed, a second surface facing the first surface, and first and second side surfaces connecting the first surface to the second surface. The sensing structure includes a sensing electrode disposed on the first surface of the display panel. The sensing signal transfer film is disposed on the second surface of the display panel. A display device may include a display panel including a signal pad and a circuit board including a connection pad having a first connection pad portion and a second connection pad portion. The second connection pad portion may be thicker than the first connection pad portion and may not be overlapped with the first connection pad portion in a plan view. The connection pad may be in contact with the signal pad. A first surface roughness between the first connection pad portion and the signal pad may be greater than a second surface roughness between the second connection pad portion and the signal pad.

Method of fabricating a circuit board and a display device including a circuit board

A display device includes a display panel including a display substrate and a connection pad disposed on a side surface of the display substrate, and a circuit board including a base board, and a driving pad disposed on the base board to face the connection pad and being in electrical contact with the connection pad. The connection pad includes a top surface, at least a portion of which is recessed to define a recessed space and facing the base board, and a bottom surface facing the side surface of the display substrate. The driving pad is disposed in the recessed space.

A display device includes a pixel array disposed on a base substrate, a side terminal electrically connected to the pixel array, a connection pad including a first side surface contacting a side surface of the side terminal, and a driving device bonding to a second side surface of the connection pad, where the second side surface is opposite to the first side surface. The side terminal includes a resistance-reducing layer and an upper conductive layer, the resistance-reducing layer includes a first conductive material, the upper conductive layer is disposed on the resistance-reducing layer and includes a second conductive material having an oxidation resistance greater than the first conductive material. A portion of the upper conductive layer is disposed between the connection pad and the resistance-reducing layer such that the resistance-reducing layer is spaced apart from the connection pad.
