The present invention relates to a porous separator comprising a porous layer containing a plurality of plate-type inorganic particles and a first binder polymer positioned on part or all of the surface of the plate-type inorganic particles to connect and fix between the plate-type inorganic particles; and a metal layer formed on any one surface of the porous layer, and a lithium secondary battery comprising the same.

The present invention relates to a lithium secondary battery manufactured by forming a negative electrode free battery and then forming a lithium metal on the negative electrode current collector by charging. In the lithium secondary battery, since lithium metal is formed on the negative electrode current collector in the state of being blocked with the atmosphere, the generation of the conventional surface oxide layer (native layer) formed on the negative electrode does not occur inherently, thereby preventing the reduction of the efficiency and lifetime characteristics of the battery.

Lithium secondary battery

A lithium secondary battery including a positive electrode, a negative electrode comprising a negative electrode current collector, and an electrolyte interposed between the positive electrode and negative electrode. The lithium metal is formed on the negative electrode current collector by lithium ions migrating toward the negative electrode current collector after charge. The electrolyte comprises a sacrificial salt having an oxidation potential of 5 V or less with respect to lithium. The lithium secondary battery forms lithium metal while being blocked from the atmosphere, and thereby improves an existing problem caused by high reactivity of lithium metal. By including a sacrificial salt in an electrolyte, lithium consumption caused by an irreversible reaction of a negative electrode is reduced, which may prevent decline in the battery capacity and lifetime properties.

A lithium electrode and a lithium secondary battery including the same, which includes a first protective layer and a second protective layer sequentially formed on at least one surface of lithium metal layer. The second protective layer contains a cross-linked ion conductive electrolyte in the interior and on the surface of the electrically conductive matrix, and thus the first protective layer has higher ion conductivity than the second protective layer, thereby preventing electrons from being concentrated into lithium dendrites formed from the lithium metal to inhibit the growth of lithium dendrites, and at the same time, physically inhibiting the growth of lithium dendrites by the second protective layer.

Lithium electrode and lithium secondary battery comprising same

A lithium electrode having an acrylic polymer layer formed on a lithium metal layer wherein the acrylic polymer layer functions as a protective layer for the lithium metal layer, and functions as a release layer in the manufacturing process of the lithium electrode. The acrylic polymer layer shows an effect that does not act as a resistance in the lithium secondary battery comprising the lithium electrode during operation of the battery.

This negative electrode is formed by charge-induced formation of lithium metal on a negative electrode current collector having a three-dimensional structure form. The lithium secondary battery forms lithium metal while being blocked from the atmosphere. Therefore, formation of a surface oxide layer (native oxide layer) on a negative electrode is blocked and a lithium dendrite growth suppressing effect is achieved by forming lithium metal on a negative electrode current collector having a three-dimensional structure form. The lithium secondary battery has a superior battery efficiency and reduces declines in lifetime properties.

A lithium electrode and a lithium secondary battery including the same. By using an olefin-based ion conducting polymer as a protective layer-forming material of a lithium electrode having a protective layer formed on a lithium metal layer, the lithium electrode may be protected from moisture or open air during a lithium electrode preparation process, lithium dendrite formation and growth from the lithium electrode may be prevented, and performance of a battery using the lithium electrode may be enhanced.
