A display device includes a substrate of a display panel, including: a display area and a non-display area, an upper surface and a lower surface each in the display area and the non-display area, and side surfaces connecting the upper and lower surfaces to each other; a signal line on the upper surface of the substrate; a circuit substrate on a side surface of the substrate; and a connection electrode on the upper surface of the substrate in the non-display area thereof, where the connection electrode electrically connects the signal line and the circuit substrate to each other. In the non-display area, the substrate further includes: a first etched portion recessed from the side surface at which the circuit substrate is disposed, and a second etched portion extending from the first etched portion toward the signal line, and the connection electrode is in the first and second etched portions.

Display device and manufacturing method thereof

A display device and a method of manufacturing the display device are capable of substantially minimizing damage to a display panel. The display device includes: a first substrate including a display area and a pad area; a polarization film disposed at an upper surface of the first substrate to overlap the display area; a flexible printed circuit board disposed at a lower surface of the first substrate; a via hole defined through the first substrate at the pad area; and a connection metal located at the via hole. The connection metal includes a connection portion disposed in the via hole and a first protruding portion that protrudes with respect to the first substrate, and the polarization film is spaced apart from the via hole in a plan view.

Display device and method of manufacturing the same

A display apparatus includes a display panel which displays an image with light; and a side sealing member which is configured to block the light. The side sealing member contacts at least one side surface of the display panel to cover the one side surface. The side sealing member has an elongation of about 100% to about 300% inclusive.

A display device includes a display panel and a backlight assembly. A light source unit of the backlight assembly includes a light source board including a conductive pattern, a light emitting chip on the light source board and electrically connected to the conductive pattern, a wavelength conversion member covering the light emitting chip and converting a wavelength of light emitted from the light emitting chip; and diffusion particles in the wavelength conversion member. The light emitting chip includes a rear surface facing the light source board, a top surface opposite to the rear surface and a side surface connecting the rear surface to the top surface. A density of the diffusion particles in the wavelength conversion member at the top surface of the light emitting chip is greater than a density of the diffusion particles in the wavelength conversion member at the side surface of the light emitting chip.

Display device

A backlight unit includes a printed circuit board; a light source on the printed circuit board; a light guide plate that receives light emitted from the light source on one surface and directs light outwards through another surface; and a light blocking unit between the light source and the light guide plate. The light blocking unit may be spaced apart from the light guide plate.

Backlight unit

A display apparatus includes a display panel displaying an image by using light, light source units arranged in a first direction to generate the light, a light guide plate which guides the light to the display panel, a first fixing member fixing a predetermined area of an upper portion of each of the plurality of light source units to a first area of one side surface of the light guide plate adjacent to a top surface of the light guide plate in a second direction crossing the first direction, and a second fixing member fixing a predetermined area of a lower portion of each of the plurality of light source units to a second area of the one side surface of the light guide plate adjacent to a bottom surface of the light guide plate in the second direction where each of the first and second fixing members includes a light reflection material.

A display device includes a display panel receiving light and displaying an image, a light guide plate guiding the light to the display panel, a printed circuit board disposed adjacent to one side of the light guide plate and including first and second areas alternately defined therein, light sources mounted on the printed circuit board to correspond to the first area and to supply the light to the light guide plate, a first barrier wall disposed on the printed circuit board and extending in a direction in which the light sources are arranged, and a second barrier wall facing the first barrier wall such that the light sources are disposed between the first and second barrier walls, the second barrier wall disposed on the printed circuit board, and extending in the direction.
