An embodiment provides an X-ray apparatus that displays position information regarding a plurality of X-ray detectors and a method of operating the same. A method of adjusting an X-ray emission range includes: displaying an image obtained by capturing X-rays which pass through a subject; receiving a user input with respect to the captured image; and controlling a collimator according to the received user input, to adjust the X-ray emission range according to a size and position of the collimator.
