Disclosed are a granular super absorbent polymer, including particles (A) having an average diameter of 150 to 850 &#x3bc;m, wherein the particles (A) includes particles (a1) having an average diameter of 500 to 850 &#x3bc;m; and particles (a2) having an average diameter of 150 to 250 &#x3bc;m, and the particles (a1 and a2) have a water-solubility index of 0.08 to 2.0 (represented by Equation 1), thereby it is possible to maintain a proper amount of extractables in a resin, and to exhibit excellent flow conductivity and water absorption ability in a case of being actually applied to products, without inducing any skin problem when, as well as a preparation method thereof.

Super absorbent polymer and method of preparing the same

A super-absorbent polymer satisfying Equation 1 exhibits remarkably improved shape rupture under pressure while maintaining excellent absorption ability. The super-absorbent polymer may be prepared by preparing a base resin by polymerizing a polymeric compound containing an acrylic monomer by using a polyfunctional nitroxide mediated radical polymerization initiator, substituting a terminal of the polymer prepared in the polymerization step with maleic anhydride, cross-linking each maleic anhydride terminal of different polymers prepared in the substitution step by using alkylenediamine having 2 to 8 carbon atoms, drying and grinding the base resin, and surface cross-linking the ground base resin.

Disclosed are a water-absorbing resin and a method of preparing the same, wherein absorbency under unload of the water-absorbing resin is 25 g/g or more, the absorbency under load is 20 g/g or more, and an increase in extractables at a high temperature represented by Equation 1 ranges from 1 or more but less than 3, thereby it is possible to solve a problem that gel-blocking of the water-absorbing resin is accelerated at a high temperature, and improve absorption rate and dry efficiency of the water-absorbing resin.

Water-absorbing resin and preparing method thereof

Disclosed in the present invention are a microporous polyethylene film and a method of manufacture thereof. The polyethylene microporous film manufactured according to the present invention may contribute to an increased productivity of stable products as its extrusion and stretching may be done readily. And thus manufactured product may be used for battery separators and various filters owing to its high gas permeability, superior puncture strength, and small ratio of shrinkage.

Microporous polyethylene film manufactured according to liquid-liquid phase separation and method of producing the same

The present invention discloses a microporous high-density polyethylene film for a battery separator, and process for preparing the same. The microporous high-density polyethylene film according to the present invention comprises of high-density polyethylene with weight average molecular weight of 2&#xd7;10&#x2dc;4&#xd7;10, containing not more than 5 wt % of molecules with molecular weight of 1&#xd7;10or less and not more than 5 wt % of molecules with molecular weight of 1&#xd7;10or more, and has the properties of puncture strength of 0.22 N/&#x3bc;m or more, Darcy's permeability constant of 1.8&#xd7;10Darcy or more, and shrinkage of 4% or less in machine and transverse direction, respectively. Particularly, the microporous high-density polyethylene film has excellent extrusion-compoundability and stretchability with high productivity and enhances performances and stability of the battery using the film.
