The video coding includes decoding one or more previously encoded frames of a video source that are designated as reference frames for the video source, searching the reference frames for one or more candidate pixel blocks for an input frame of the video source, and encoding the input frame based on the one or more candidate pixel blocks.

Techniques for bitstream extraction for subpicture in coded video stream

Aspects of the disclosure provide a method, an apparatus, and non-transitory computer-readable storage medium for video decoding. The apparatus includes processing circuitry that is configured to decode a current picture based on a bitstream. The processing circuitry can determine, from a supplemental enhancement information (SEI) message, a first flag indicating whether a warping process is applied to the current decoded picture. Based on the first flag indicating that the warping process is applied to the current decoded picture, the processing circuitry can determine warping information of the warping process based on the SEI message. The processing circuitry can determine a warped picture from the current decoded picture based on the warping information.

Warping parameter signaling for image stabilization

In a method of decoding, a first flag of a sequence parameter set (SPS) that is referred to by a current picture is obtained. The current picture is decoded based on whether the first flag indicates the reference picture resampling is enabled. The first flag equal to a first value indicates that the reference picture resampling is enabled and the current picture is allowed to include slices that refer to a reference picture with at least one of a different spatial resolution or a different scaling window in an active entry of a reference pictures list. This disclosure relates to video coding and more particularly to techniques for performing motion vector prediction. According to an aspect of an invention, a motion vector and a corresponding reference picture identifier for the motion vector are received; a reference picture corresponding to a second motion vector is determined based on the reference picture corresponding to the received motion vector and a current picture; a scaling value is determined based on the determined reference picture, the reference picture corresponding to the received motion vector, and the current picture; and the second motion vector is generated from the received motion vector by scaling with the scaling value.

Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video encoding/decoding. In some examples, an apparatus for video decoding includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry decodes pictures associated with views in a bitstream and determines, from a supplemental enhancement information (SEI) message, positions of multidimensional coordinates in a multidimensional space respectively for the views. In an example, a position of a view is defined in the SEI message by at least a vertical view position and a horizontal view position in the multidimensional space. Further, the processing circuitry determines a rendering picture from the pictures based on a rendering view that is defined by at least the vertical view position and the horizontal view position in the multidimensional space.

A network abstraction layer (NAL) unit type associated with each of the one or more subpictures is identified based on checking a flag corresponding to mixed NAL units in the one or more subpictures. A method, computer program, and computer system is provided for aligning across layers in a coded video stream. A video bitstream having multiple layers is decoded. One or more subpicture regions are identified from among the multiple layers of the decoded video bitstream, the subpicture regions including a background region and one or more foreground subpicture regions. An enhanced subpicture is decoded and displayed based on a determination that a foreground subpicture region is selected. The background region is decoded and displayed based on a determination that a foreground subpicture region was not selected.

Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video data processing. In some examples, an apparatus for video data processing includes processing circuitry. For example, the processing circuitry determines a first syntax element for coding control in a first scope of coded video data in a bitstream. The first syntax element is associated with a coding tool of a slice based Rice coding for a residual coding in a transform skip mode. The coding tool provides a Rice parameter at a slice level for the residual coding in the transform skip mode. In response to the first syntax element being a first value indicative of disabling of the coding tool in the first scope, the processing circuitry decodes the first scope of coded video data that includes one or more second scopes of coded video data without invoking the coding tool.
