An apparatus and method for controlling a touchscreen in a wireless terminal are provided. The apparatus includes a display unit which is activated when the wireless terminal is in a first operation state, a touchscreen unit which is activated and displays an icon for performing a corresponding function at a current mode when the wireless terminal is in the first operation state, and a control unit which activates the display unit and controls the icon for performing a corresponding function at a current mode to be displayed on the touchscreen unit when the wireless terminal is in the first operation state. The method includes activating a display unit and displaying an icon for performing a corresponding function at a current mode on a touchscreen unit when the wireless terminal is in a first operation state, and deactivating the display unit and converting a function of the touchscreen unit into a function of the display unit or activating the display unit when the wireless terminal is in a second operation state contrary to the first operation state.

Apparatus and method for controlling a touchscreen in a wireless terminal

A speaker device for use in a mobile terminal includes a speaker frame with a speaker unit mounted therein, and a frame cover provided at the rear side of the speaker frame to form a resonance space between the speaker frame and the frame cover. Sound that is output in a forward direction of the speaker unit is emitted to a front space of the speaker frame, and sound that isoutput to the rear of the speaker unit is emitted through the resonance space. The speaker device provides the resonance space at the rear side of the speaker frame to reinforce the output of midrange and bass tones, thereby reproducing the original sound as accurately as possible. The speaker device enables a user to enjoy vivid sound when reproducing a multimedia file or viewing a digital, multimedia broadcast (DMB) program on a small-sized device, such as a mobile terminal.

An ultra-slim portable terminal is disclosed. The ultra-slim portable terminal includes a body having a first portion and a second portion. An auxiliary display unit which is always exposed to the outside is provided on the upper surface of the first portion of the body, and the second portion of the body is recessed from the first portion of the body by a certain depth. A folder including a main display unit is connected to the body by a hinge to open and close the second portion. When the folder is folded onto the second portion, it is substantially parallel to the first portion.

The apparatus and method further determines whether different telephone numbers corresponding to a personal name searched from the dial history information are registered in a phone book. If the different telephone numbers corresponding to the personal name are registered in the phone book, all registered telephone numbers linked to the single calling/called telephone number icon are displayed.

Apparatus and method for performing a dialing operation using a phone book of a mobile communication terminal

A parallel-connected telephone use determining circuit using a microcomputer having therein an analog-to digital converter for determining an operation status of a parallel-connected telephone system connected to a telephone line. The circuit includes a rectifier for rectifying the variance of voltage applied through a telephone line, a voltage detector for detecting the variance of the voltage rectified from the rectifier, and a central processing unit (CPU) having an A/D converter incorporated therein for converting the voltage variance output from the voltage detector into a digital signal, for detecting the digital signal converted from the A/D converter and determining whether a parallel-connected telephone is in use.
