A cassette tape ejecting apparatus has a chassis having a pin boss, a hook hole and a locking groove formed as a single body, a cassette housing installed on the chassis to be transferred to a tape insertion position and a tape ejection position, a cassette tape being mounted thereon, a locking lever being installed on the cassette housing, and having a locking protrusion hooked on the looking groove of the chassis when the cassette housing is transferred to the tape insertion position, an eject lever installed on the chassis to be rotated through the pin boss of the chassis in the forward/backward direction unlocks the locking protrusion from the locking groove of the chassis to eject the cassette tape, and a cassette switch turned on/off by the forward/backward rotation of the eject lever, for detecting ejection of the cassette tape.

A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus and a method for braking a reel assembly comprising a lower disc rotatably supported by a stationary shaft located on the deck and an upper disc arranged on the stationary shaft to rotatably coupled to an upper portion of the lower disc. Thus, the upper and lower discs are rotatably coupled to a tape reel of a tape cassette. A disc gear is positioned between the upper and lower discs to receive power from a capstan motor. A friction member is disposed between and in contact with the lower disc.

Magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus and method for braking a reel assembly

A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus is provided which comprises a deck mounted with a drum motor and a capstan shaft, a main sliding member slidably installed on the deck and being driven by a driving force of the drum motor, a pivot lever rotatably installed on the deck and supporting a pinch roller for guiding a tape to be in contact with the capstan shaft, a review arm rotatably installed on the deck and being connected to the pivot lever by means of an elastic member, and a compressing lever for connecting the review arm and the sliding member. The compressing lever is driven by a driving force from the sliding member, and compresses the review arm in a direction such that the elastic member is stretched. The pivot lever is then rotated by the stretched elastic member and adheres the pinch roller closely to the capstan shaft.

Magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus and driving method thereof

A reel cover of a magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus having an improved assembly construction with respect to a chassis and a method of manufacturing thereof provide a reel cover assembled with the chassis in a manner where a plurality of protrusions of a reel cover body are inserted in a plurality of recesses formed on the chassis. In this state, a resilient member formed at the reel cover body resiliently contacts a side surface of the chassis so that the protrusions are kept within the recesses. The reel cover can be assembled with the chassis in a simple manner without requiring extra securing means such as screws. Accordingly, the number of assembly parts can be decreased and the assembly procedure may be simplified, thereby productivity may be improved and manufacturing cost may be reduced.

A deck mechanism for a magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus comprises a main deck provided with a head drum, a capstan motor, and a sub-deck installed on the main deck to be loaded/unloaded. The sub-deck is provided with a pair of reel discs, onto which tape reels of a tape cassette are seated; a pole base loading unit; a pinch roller unit for compressing the tape against a spindle of the capstan motor when the sub-deck is loaded; a brake unit; a main sliding member mounted on the main deck to be capable of reciprocatingly sliding, the main sliding member controlling the driving of the pinch roller unit; and a main cam gear mounted on the main deck. The main cam gear causes the sub-deck, the pole base loading unit, the brake unit, and the main sliding member to perform linked movements while the main cam gear is rotationally driven.

A reel brake assembly for a magnetic recording/reading apparatus comprises a sub-deck slidably disposed on a main-deck in which a head drum is mounted, a reel table rotatably disposed in the sub-deck, for selectively driving a tape reel of a tape cassette, a brake unit pivotably disposed on the sub-deck, for selectively braking the reel table, and a cam gear rotated by a driving force of a driving motor, for moving the sub-deck to load and unload the sub-deck. The brake unit is selectively brought into contact with and separated from the reel table in relation to movement of the cam gear when the sub-deck is loaded and unloaded.

A pinch roller unit of a magnetic recording/reading apparatus disposed on a main deck on which a head drum and a capstan are disposed to move in association with a sub-deck which is disposed to slide on the main deck. The pinch roller unit operates to bring a tape into close contact with the capstan, and comprises a pivoting lever rotatably disposed on the main deck to pivot towards the capstan in relation to movement of the sub-deck being loaded, a pinch roller rotatably disposed at an end of the pivoting lever and brought into contact with the capstan at the time of loading process, and a torsion spring stressed by being pushed by the sliding member sliding along the left and right directions of the main deck for pushing the pivoting lever towards the capstan.
