A game includes a manual actuator, an animated character that is animated by actuation of the manual actuator, and a random integer generator such as a spinner. The animated character includes an ejector, an object such as a ball positioned in the ejector, a mechanical counter that is incremented by actuation of the manual actuator, and a release mechanism responsive to the mechanical counter to activate the ejector and thereby cause the ejector to eject the object when the counter is incremented to a sufficient number. A player of the game generates a random integer by spinning the spinner and actuates the manual actuator a number of times corresponding to the random integer.

Game with animated character

A drive mechanism for a toy vehicle. The drive mechanism connects a drive shaft of the vehicle to a driven wheel having an axis of rotation. It includes a first arm affixed to the vehicle drive shaft for rotation therewith. A second arm is affixed to the wheel axle for rotation with the axle. The first and second arms are pivotally connected together at a position offset from the drive shaft and the wheel axis. A spring biases the arms into an overlapping relationship in which, during normal rolling movement of the vehicle, the drive shaft is aligned with the driven wheel so that the wheel rotates about the axis of the drive shaft. A first stop is provided to engage the arms to limit rotation of the arms about their pivotal connection relative to each other in the direction of rotation of the wheel axle. A second stop engages the arms to limit rotation of the arms away from each other towards a fully extended position.

Climbing vehicle

A rope jumping device, including a rope having opposite ends, a platform and an elongated handle. The arm is rotatably mounted on the handle near one end thereof. An anchor is pivotally connected to the platform. One end of the rope is connected to the arm and the other end is connected to the anchor. The rope is of sufficient length such that a user, when standing on the platform, will be able to hold the handle above his or her head. Manipulation of the handle by rotation when the handle is elevated above the head of the user causes rotation of the arm, the rope and the anchor, with the rope describing a generally hyperbolic path above the pivotal connection of the anchor to the base. The arm is mounted on the handle for limited longitudinal movement relative to one end of the handle in addition to rotational mounting on the handle.

Rope jumping device

A jump rope which produces bubbles as it is rotated. A hollow liquid containing handle is located at each end of the jump rope. A bubble diffusor is positioned near each handle. A flexible liquid transporting tube connects each handle with its bubble diffusor. Each bubble diffusor includes coaxial tubes having an annular space between the tubes. Aligned openings are formed in the inner and outer coaxial tubes. The liquid bubble producing solution moves from the handles to the annular space between the tubes of the diffusor as the rope is rotated during jumping. The liquid bubble producing liquid spreads across the openings. Air passing through the openings in the coaxial tubes produces bubbles.

An extension handle facilitating use of a handheld electrically driven grass shear from an upright standing position that removably attaches to the hand grippable portion of the grass shear by depending pairs of opposed, resilient, inwardly biased clamps. A flexible strip extends through the extension handle for remote control of the grass shear on/off controls from the hand gripped section of the extension handle. The flexible strip includes a depending cam for laterally moving an on/off slide lock switch. Inwardly directed guide posts within the extension handle direct movement of the flexible strip substantially in the direction necessary to actuate the controls on the grass shear.

An activity toy with a body including a hollow cylindrical portions supported on a base and having pivotally mounted arms has a hollow upper member including a skull with extrusion openings. The bottom of the upper member has a loading opening for a plastic amorphous solid substance. Attachable about and spaced from the skull is a clear plastic mask formed of separable halves clamped together at the bottom by the engagement of hooks and tabs and at the top by a detachable hairpiece. Near the bottom, the mask is maintained in a relatively tight relation to a flange on the hollow upper member. The upper member with the mask attached is secured to the body by a bayonet lock. Within the body is a piston with diametrically opposed gear racks that are engaged by gear segments on arms pivotally mounted to the body. Movement of the arms from an upraised position down to a lower position drives the piston into the hollow member through the loading opening to extrude the plastic amorphous substance out of the extrusion openings in the skull and fill the clear plastic mask.

An express delivery playset includes an airplane, a delivery van, a loading dock, packages, a cargo transporter, and cargo containers. The plane has a conveyor belt for movement of the containers between a hatched opening at the fore end and the aft end of the substantially enclosed cargo area. Various packages carried by the van fit into the cargo containers and the plane, dock and transporter are adapted to receive the container. Off-loading packages from the van onto the dock is facilitated by a tilt-dump floor. A parallel linkage permits raising and lowering of the cargo transporter deck between the dock and the plane.

Express delivery playset

An elevator for a toy playset has a drum wound cable attached to a carrier for toy figures. The carrier includes an elongated, open bottomed shell into which is secured a folded piece of high density foam material, such as foam polyethylene. Compressed together opposed faces of the material form a slit along the length of the open bottom of the shell. Hands of a toy figure are inserted into the slit and retained by the compressed foam as the figure is transported by winding and unwinding the elevator drum.

Toy playset elevator

A drawing toy including a housing providing a raised support for a generally flat platen. Within the housing is a battery powered motor with the motor shaft extending up through the platen. The motor rotates a magnet beneath the platen. Magnetically coupled templets, fitting over or abutting the shaft, are driven around the shaft. Various drawing implements may be inserted into the templet openings for producing geometric art patterns on nonmagnetic media positioned between the platen and the templet.

An impact responsive toy has a part of the body that is movable to expose the part in its regular condition or in a damaged condition. A biasing force urges exposure of the hidden damaged condition while the part is releasably latched to expose the undamaged or regular position. Application of an outside force, such as the impact of a crash or blow, releases the latch to automatically and instantaneously switch the undamaged and damaged conditions.

Impact responsive toy

An activity toy including a hollow skull extending from a hollow, tubular neck and having eye, nose, and mouth openings. Attachable about and spaced from the skull in relatively tight relation to the neck is a clear face and head mask formed of separable halves secured together by clamps. A plastic amorphous solid substance is loaded into the skull through the neck and extruded out of openings to fill the space between the skull and the mask. Removal of the mask permits further hand working of the plastic substance to modify the appearance of the formed face. Suitable appendages and a hooded cloak are provided to obscure the plastic substance extrusion mechanism and provide a figure that may be placed in combination with the face and head extruding feature.

An activity toy with which a child may create needle craft like textured designs using plastic or amorphous solid substances. In order to simulate the strands or nubs that create the textured design in neddle crafts a stand supported on a surface holds a screen having mesh spaces extending between the opposed sides of the screen. The stands hold the screen spaced from the surface with one side of the screen facing the child. An extruder for the plastic substance is positioned adjacent the side of the screen away from the child and moved under the screen to force the substance through the mesh spaces to create the needle craft like texture. The extrusion opening is a larger than the mesh spaces so that a mat or backing retains the textured design on the screen. To facilitate the creation of aesthetically pleasing designs, preprinted patterns or outlines are provided on the screen.

Activity toy

A top is releaseably carried by a vehicle for rotation about an axis upon an external force effecting linear movement of the vehicle and rotation of a drivingly related surface engaging wheel. If the wheel is suddenly stopped the momentum of the top will overcome the force retaining it and the spinning top will be ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle has a track to facilitate insertion and ejection of the top.

Combination vehicle and top toy

A amusement device for transmitting secret messages includes a central, generally flat, elongated core member for receiving the imprinting of messages thereon. A pressure sensitive sheet-like transfer element is wrapped around or placed adjacent a portion of the core material. The transfer element is coated on the side adjacent the core member with a substance which will transfer to the core upon pressure being applied to the outer side. The amusement device further includes an inner and outer wrapper, wrapped around the core member and pressure sensitive transfer element to disguise the nature of the device. A message may be written on the core material by using a stylus or other non-marking item to apply pressure to the outside wrapper. The pressure sensitive transfer element will imprint the message onto the core material such that when the core member is unwrapped, the message may be read. In one embodiment of the amusement element, the core member is a stick of chewing gum and the transfer element is coated with an edible substance.
