A mechanism for eliminating impurities from fibrous material, in particular cotton, having at least two card-clothed rolls (22, 23) arranged after a feed mechanism and a screening drum (3) to which said fibrous material is fed by means of an airstream. A housing closely encloses the two card-clothed rolls. Interposed in the housing are separating openings including separating edges. One of said two card-clothing rolls (23) cooperating with the other of the two card-clothed rolls has a take-off and loosener roll for the fibrous material and the centrifugal forces at the circumference of the second card-clothed roll (23) being greater than at the first card-clothed roll (22). A third card-clothed roll is positioned in carding relation with the first card-clothed roll. Another take-off and loosener roll (52) is positioned for removing fibers from the third card-clothed roll (5). A pair of fiber feed channels (24, 53) extend from the take-off rolls (23, 52) for conveying the fibers therefrom to the screening drum (3). The widths of the mouth of the channels (24, 53) are one-half of the width of the screen drum (3) so that each of the fiber conveying channels (24, 53) feed fiber material to one-half of the screening drum (3).

A mechanism for the production of wrapped yarn which consists of a bundle of spun fibers wrapped around a binding thread. A hollow spindle 5 is supported between a pair of delivery rolls 1, 2 and a pair of draw-off rolls 3, 4. A rotating binding thread bobbin 7 is arranged coaxially with the hollow spindle 5 and is enclosed by a housing 8. An air flow which can be generated in the housing and/or introduced into the housing causes the pressure within the housing to be built up so as to prevent fibers and the like from entering an exit hole carried in a cover 80 provided on the housing.

Mechanism for the production of a wrapped yarn

An apparatus for monitoring the yarn delivered by an open end spinning turbine which has an electric motor for driving the turbine with a predetermined rpm. The apparatus includes a measured value transmitting arrangement responsive to changes in the current consumption of the electric motor for generating a signal when the change in the current consumption exceeds a predetermined threshold value. The measured value transmitting arrangement is responsive to a reduction in the current consumption of the electric motor and generates a yarn breakage indicating signal when the reduction in the current consumption falls below a predetermined value indicative of yarn breakage.

A method and device for cleaning a rotor in an open-end spinning machine. While the rotor is running at a speed less than the normal r.p.m. a first flow of cleaning air is directed to a collecting groove of the rotor and a second flow of cleaning air is simultaneously directed to the periphery of the spinning rotor at an angle different from the first flow of air. In one embodiment, at least one of the flows of air is directed in a pulsating manner. The flows or streams of air are fed through ducts provided in an extension of a cover which extends within the rotor or is supplied to the rotor by means of a movable housing.

Method and device for cleaning spinning rotors in open-end spinning

In the production of yarn in an open-end spinning turbine having an elastically mounted rotor bearing, a break in the yarn or an operating state which influences yarn quality is detected by means of a sensor which produces a signal representative of radial deflections of the bearing and an evaluation circuit which responds to the absence of and/or a change in the signal component produced by the sensor as a result of radial deflections created by the fiber material present on the rotor.
