A method for acquiring at least one signal transmitted via an electric conductor, wherein an electric and/or magnetic field of the conductor is acquired at at least two identical or different positions relative to a longitudinal coordinate of the conductor, thus obtaining two measurement signals corresponding to the respective positions, and the signal transmitted via the conductor is inferred from the measurement signals.

A gateway module for connection of at least two sub-networks is described. A first sub-network of the at least two sub-networks supports a data transmission in accordance with a first communications protocol, especially CAN, FlexRay, LIN, MOST or Ethernet, and a second sub-network of the at least two sub-networks supports a data transmission in accordance with a second communications protocol, especially CAN, FlexRay, LIN, MOST or Ethernet. The gateway module has a configurable hardware circuit which is adapted to manipulate and forward data from the first sub-network and to the second sub-network taking into consideration the first communications protocol and the second communications protocol.

An interface module has an integrated component for replacing a component on a circuit board, the terminal contacts on the bottom side of the interface module being designed as provided for the contacts of the component on the circuit board, the interface module being divided into an adaptor part as a base module and a protocol converter part as a tool access module.

A method and a device for checking the functioning of a computer are proposed, the computer in a normal operating state having access to the working memory via bus lines. For the purposes of checking, provision is made for an alternate memory and a switchover device, as a result of the switchover device the access of the computer being diverted such that access is not to the working memory but rather to the alternate memory. The content of the alternate memory can be influenced by a user. In the alternate memory provision is made for an auxiliary program, which is executed when activated by the computer and which makes available information concerning the internal operating states of the computer.
