A receiver includes a tunable receiving chain, configured to receive a subframe header when tuned to a first receiving bandwidth; a decoder, configured to decode an allocation information from the subframe header, the allocation information indicating an allocation of a plurality of resource blocks in the subframe; and a controller, configured to derive a second receiving bandwidth from the allocation information and to tune the receiving chain to the second receiving bandwidth.

A transceiver that implements a frequency domain cancellation of a transmit (Tx)-modulated spur associated with a transceiver is disclosed. The transceiver comprises a baseband receive (Rx) path configured to propagate a receive signal in frequency domain, associated with an Rx signal path of the transceiver, forming a baseband Rx signal, wherein the baseband Rx signal comprises a wanted Rx signal and an unwanted transmit (Tx) modulated spur. The transceiver further comprises a baseband Tx path configured to propagate a Tx signal in frequency domain, associated with the Tx signal path of the transceiver, thereby forming a baseband Tx signal. In addition, the transceiver comprises a cancellation circuit coupled to the baseband Rx path, configured to receive the baseband Rx signal and the baseband Tx signal, and generate a cancellation signal based thereon, in order to cancel the unwanted Tx modulated spur from the baseband Rx signal.

An apparatus for generating a radio frequency signal based on a symbol within a constellation diagram is provided. The constellation diagram is spanned by a first axis representing an in-phase component and an orthogonal second axis representing a quadrature component. The apparatus includes a processing unit configured to select one of a plurality of segments of the constellation diagram containing the symbol. The segment is delimited by two radially extending boundaries, wherein the two radially extending boundaries span an opening angle of the segment that is different from 90&#xb0;. The processing unit is further configured to calculate a first coordinate of the symbol with respect to a third axis, and a second coordinate of the symbol with respect to a fourth axis. At least one of the third axis and the fourth axis coincides with one of the two radially extending boundaries. The apparatus further includes a plurality of digital-to-analog converter cells configured to generate the radio frequency signal using the first coordinate and the second coordinate.

A method for reducing a distortion component within a baseband receive signal is provided. The baseband receive signal is derived from a radio frequency signal and the distortion component is related to an undesired signal component of the radio frequency signal. The method includes generating a first local oscillator signal having a frequency related to a frequency of the undesired signal component. Further the method includes generating an auxiliary baseband signal using the radio frequency signal and the first local oscillator signal. The method further includes generating a second local oscillator signal having a frequency related to a frequency of a desired signal component of the radio frequency signal. The method includes modifying the baseband receive signal based on the auxiliary baseband signal.

One embodiment of the phase-locked loop comprises an oscillator, a counter, a comparator, and a delay arrangement. Phase-locked loop and method for operating a phase-locked-loop

A phase locked loop is disclosed and includes a frequency divider circuit with a settable division ratio in a feedback path. The division ratio is produced using a control circuit which, besides an input for supplying the integer and fractional components for the frequency division ratio which is to be set, includes an input for supplying a phase correction signal. To produce the phase correction signal, the phase locked loop further includes a phase correction apparatus. The phase correction signal preferably contains a signal component with an exponential profile, and is supplied to the control circuit for producing a frequency division ratio for the frequency divider circuit such that it compensates for a phase drift in the output signal from the voltage controlled oscillator in the phase locked loop.
