A method for correcting colors of a color reproduction of a digital microscope and a digital microscope are described. In a first step of a method according to the invention, a color image of a sample that is to be examined under the microscope is recorded. When the recording is performed, wavelength-dependent properties of a microscope illumination unit that illuminates the sample are determined in order to describe a state of the microscope illumination unit, in that settings selected at the microscope illumination unit are captured. A set of correction values is determined, which is associated with a state of the microscope illumination unit that is selected in accordance with the state of the microscope illumination unit determined when the recording is performed. In a further step, the colors of the recorded color image of the sample are corrected by applying the correction values of the previously determined set.

Method for correcting a color reproduction of a digital microscope and digital microscope

A method for monitoring a control system is disclosed comprising a plurality of control units, preferably for an optical measurement device or observation device. In a method of this type, it is provided that at least one control unit with master capability is incorporated in the communication between the control station and the rest of the control units and communicates with at least one of the control units for purposes of detecting status data and communicates with the control station for purposes of conveying the detected status data. In this way, polling for determining the current status is not the exclusive responsibility of the control station but, rather, can be taken over&#x2014;at least partially or so as to be limited to determined processes&#x2014;by the control unit with master capability enabled for this purpose. A control system for accomplishing the method is also disclosed.

Method for monitoring a control system

An exposure control system for the photographic recording of a microscope image comprises a two dimensional photographic receiver arrangement for detecting the image brightness of the microscope image. The receiver arrangement is a component part of a camera system which is attachable to a standard camera part of a microscope. The receiver arrangement has an interface for transmitting image information of a microscopic object detected by the receiver arrangement to a viewing unit. A first input device is included to which the viewing unit is coupled for manual selection of at least one optical image region on the receiver arrangement. The intensity value of the image region forming a control signal for the exposure time of the photographic recording.
