A network management architecture referred to as the Control/Orchestration/Management/Policy/Analytics (COMPA) architecture (or COMPA for short). The COMPA architecture functions to simplify and automate the operations (both management and business process) of a network. In one aspect, the COMPA architecture addresses four use case categories: (1) Resource/Service Onboarding; (2) Automated Product Offerings; (3) Automated Management; and (4) Service Exposure. COMPA enables rapid service introduction into the network and lifecycle management; dynamic network governance via policy; and controlled access to functionality provided by different responsibility domains.

Automatic network management system and methods

The present invention relates to methods and apparatuses for finding out which XDM server a specific user is allocated to in a network with several XDM servers. An HTTP proxy () receives an XCAP request () from an XDM client (), including information related to a user associated with the XDM client. The HTTP proxy checks if the user exists in its storage (), based on the received user information, and if not, the HTTP proxy creates a SIP request () including the user information, and passes it over to a SIP Proxy (). The SIP Proxy finds out which XDM server the user is allocated to by enquiring a subscriber database (), and then the SIP proxy passes the XDM server address information back to the HTTP Proxy (), which is then able to route the XCAP request () to the correct XDM server ().

Method and apparatus for routing XCAP requests

The invention provides a method of authorizing provision of in-directed content to a user of an IPcommunications network. The in-directed content is associated with a presentity subscriber of a presence service, the presence service including authorization rules regarding users to which the in-directed content may be provided. The in-directed content is stored at a content server that is not controlled by the presence service. The method includes receiving at an authorization proxy in the network a request from the user to be provided with the in-directed content, and identifying the presentity subscriber associated with the requested in-directed content. The authorization proxy retrieves the authorization rules to verify that the user is authorized to receive the in-directed content. Subject to the verification, the in-directed content is provided from the content server the user.
