A calibrating device for calibrating vehicle assistance systems is described. The device includes: at least one target pattern; at least one sensor, which is designed to detect the position and the orientation of a vehicle to be measured with respect to the calibrating device; and a positioning device, which is designed to position the at least one target pattern on the basis of the position of the vehicle to be measured, which is detected by the at least one sensor, in such a way that the at least one target pattern is situated in a specified orientation at a specified position with respect to the vehicle to be measured.

Device and method for calibrating vehicle assistance systems

A system for confirming the identity of a vehicle. The device includes: a vehicle control unit in the vehicle to be identified; a vehicle identification device; an external service device designed to interact with the vehicle; a vehicle sensor in the vehicle; and an external sensor. The vehicle identification device establishes a data connection with the vehicle control unit and triggers a physical interaction between the vehicle control unit and the external service device. The vehicle sensor detects the physical interaction and transmits a corresponding vehicle detection value to the vehicle identification device. The external sensor detects the physical interaction and transmits a corresponding external detection value to the vehicle identification device; and the vehicle identification device compares the vehicle detection value and the external detection value with one another and confirms the identity of the vehicle if the two detection values coincide with one another within a predefined tolerance.

Method and system for confirming the identity of a vehicle

A method for diagnosing a metering valve for metering a reagent into the exhaust gas region of an internal combustion engine. The metering valve is actuated by a pulse-width-modulated metering valve actuation signal with a certain duty factor for setting the metering rate. A reagent pump places the reagent at a reagent pressure, and the reagent pump is operated with a pulse-width-modulated pump actuation signal with a certain duty factor. Diagnosis of the metering valve is carried out on the basis of an evaluation of the increase in the metering valve actuation signal pulse duty factor after a predefined increase in the metering rate. The reagent filling level of an SCR catalytic converter arranged in the exhaust gas region is taken into account. At the start of the diagnosis, the reagent storage capacity of the SCR catalytic converter is checked.

Method for diagnosing a metering valve and device for carrying out the method

A procedure for checking the functionality of an electric heating device () with at least one PTC-element () is suggested. The electric heating device () is operated at a battery voltage. When controlling the heating device () it is impinged with a current and at least one measuring value is detected, which represents the current that flows through the heating device. The measuring value for the current is compared to at least one reference value with a default tolerance width while considering the battery voltage. In the case of a measuring value that deviates from the reference value an error can be assumed.

Procedure for checking the functionality of an electric heating device

A procedure for a reasonability check of the signal of a temperature sensor that is arranged in a reducing tank, in particular a HWL-tank, is thereby characterized, in that the tank level is detected by a tank level sensor that is arranged almost at the same filling level position as the temperature sensor, in that the tank level sensor signal is compared to the temperature sensor signal and then, if default tank level sensor signals correlate within default limits with default temperature sensor signal values, a functioning temperature sensor and/or a functioning tank level sensor are indicated.

Procedure for a reasonability check of a temperature sensor

A method and device for treating exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine with a reducing agent introduced into the exhaust gases. The reducing agent is pumped out of a reactant reservoir and to a dosing valve so that after the dosing valve is opened, the reducing agent can be introduced into the engine's exhaust gas line in a dosed manner. Reducing agent can be conveyed back from the delivery device to the reservoir via a return line. The reducing agent can circulate between the delivery device and the reactant reservoir thereby, particularly when the dosing valve is closed, preventing the reactant from freezing.
