Service models may be generated in response to services exposed by two or more IaaS service providers, and an interface may be provided for selection and specification of the service models.

Provisioning IaaS services

A method is provided for encoding an intra predicted residual block of an image for use in image or video compression. The intra predicted residual block is associated with an intra prediction coding mode. The method includes generating a set of residual error blocks including residual data with different statistical characteristics from the residual data in the intra predicted residual block. Each of the residual error blocks is scanned and entropy coded to produce a first set of bit streams. The lengths of each of the first set of bit streams are recorded. The intra predicted residual block is also scanned and entropy coded to produce a second bit stream. The length of the second bit stream is recorded. Selecting the minimum length bit stream from the first set of bit streams and the second bit stream as the output coded bit stream of the intra predicted residual block.

Lossless image and video compression

An apparatus and related method to track data block operations in a cloud system are provided. Attributes associated with the data block operation may be attached to each individual data block targeted by the data block operation.

Tracing data block operations

A storage system may store files on multiple nodes. One or more logs may indicate operations performed on the files stored in the storage system and may identify the nodes that requested the operations. A new allocation or file placement scheme may be determined to reduce network traffic.

Example embodiments disclosed herein relate to development of an application. An interface can be provided to develop an application using multiple nodes associated with a workflow model. The workflow model can include implicit backtracking based on node type.
