A disposable unitary jet injector cartridge, filled with a medicament to be injected, includes an interrupted flange and collar adapted to releaseably affix the cartridge to a jet injector gun. When the gun is fired, a predetermined amount of medicament is injected from the sterile end of the cartridge without the need to sterilize either the gun or other portions of the cartridge. The cartridge is particularly useful for the self-administration of drugs and medicines by a patient.

A tamper-evident lid for use with containers includes a surface to cover the container, and downward projections around the periphery of the surface which surrounds the mouth of said container. An interrupted ring is frangibly attached to the downward projections. A plurality of tamper-evident hooks are affixed to said ring. The hooks are visible through openings in the downward projections. The hooks engage the container, but when the lid is removed, the ring fractures away from the downward projection ring and the tampering with the package is apparent. In the preferred embodiment, a bead on the lid engages the sidewall of the container to provide a resealable, airtight seal.

Tamper-evident lid with tear-away ring

A hypodermic jet injector includes a resuable, spring-powered gun and a disposable unitary cartridge filled with a substance to be injected. The unitary cartridge has an interrupted flange which cooperates with a shoulder on the gun to releasably affix the cartridge to the end of the gun for use. A predetermined amount of sterile medicament is readily injected from the sterile end of the cartridge without the need to sterilize the gun. This is particularly useful for self-administration of drugs and medicines by the patient.

A tamper-evident lid for use with containers includes a surface to cover the container, and downward projections around the periphery of the surface which surround the mouth of said container. A continuous ring is affixed to the downward projections. A plurality of tamper-evident hooks are frangibly attached to said ring. The hooks are visible through openings in the downward projections. The hooks engage the container, but when the lid is removed, the hooks fracture away from the ring and the tampering with the package is apparent. In the preferred embodiment, a bead on the lid engages the sidewall of the container to provide a resealable, airtight seal.

Plastic carrier devices that are corrugated to create alternating thick rib sections, that have not been stretched and thin fully oriented sections. Applicating techniques that utilize the ability to pretension the devices to be fed onto an applicating drum are part of the multi-packaging system of this invention.

Multi-packaging devices, methods and machines

A plastic band is provided for encircling and combining into a single package, two multi-package assemblies of cans. The plastic band of the present invention encircles the outside of the array of cans comprising the combination of two multi-packages and further provides a central stabilizing strap which provides firm resilient engagement with at least all of the corner cans of each individual multi-package.

Multi-package and packaging device

An apparatus for high-speed transfer of plants from an array arranged in ranks and rows to a transplanting location. The apparatus incorporates structure which positively locates and stabilizes the individual plants during their path of travel from the array to their predetermined transplanting location as well as structure which permits each rank of the array to be removed as a unit for transfer to the path of travel. The apparatus is also designed to eliminate the top growth of each plant from interfering with individual placement and movement of the plants.

A thin walled nestable thermoplastic cup having stacking rings configured in the side walls to permit nonjamming, telescopic association of a series of like containers, the stacking rings incorporating bulbous shoulder means to enhance axial resilience in a stack of so nested cups.

Resilient nestable cup

A planting system including a support tray, a plurality of interconnected sleeves, and a plurality of transplant frames adapted for insertion within each sleeve. Each assembly is configured so that a plurality of assemblies are nestable and stackable without jamming relative to each other. Each individual part and sub-assembly is also configured to be nestable in nonjamming relationship with other like parts or subassemblies.

Nestable and stackable transplanting system

A planting system in which the basic unit of the system comprises a plurality of individual containers for growing plants to a stage suitable for transplanting and in which the plurality of containers are secured in a flexible carrier sheet. The securement of each of the containers in the carrier sheet is such that the entire basic unit can be handled in a number of shipping, handling, filling, growing, and transplanting operations in a convenient, unique and efficient manner. Various articles of manufacture are contemplated in the system of the invention which aid and render in the unique and efficient use of the system. Those articles of manufacture include shipping and handling cartons, holding trays, filler plates and portable pack arrangements.

Planting system including articles of manufacture

A high-speed planting method and machine in which a plurality of plants are provided in a plurality of webs. The webs are flexible and each web carries a plurality of plants fixed in an array of a plurality of adjacent rows and substantially perpendicular ranks. In the method and machine, each web is bent in a curve about an axis parallel to the ranks of plants, and during the bending operation each leading rank of plants is ejected from the web as a group. Concurrently with that operation, each removed rank of plants is conveyed toward the ground, and each plant in each conveyed rank is successively set into the ground in spaced relation along a line.

High-speed planting method and machine

A plastic cup is provided of the thin wall variety having inner and outer spaced walls with an insulating air space therebetween. Successive cups in a telescoped stack seal effectively together so that a food concentrate or the like placed in the bottom of each cup will be protected against contamination and spoilage. To this end, the cups are provided with stacking rings and cylindrical sealing surfaces whereby a certain degree of movement between adjacent telescoped cups is permissible without allowing the entrance of air into the space between such adjacent cups. The inner and outer walls of each cup are spaced apart in the stacking and sealing ring area to allow pivotal movement of an inner cup wall with regard to its corresponding outer cup wall, whereby a telescoped stack of nested cups can flex, i.e., the axis of the stack can go from straight to arcuate, without breaking the seal between adjacent telescope cups which would lead to contamination or spoilage of the food ingredient therein.

A planting system including a growing container which is inserted into the ground absent wall portions thereof and from which the plant growing in the remaining portions in the ground may grow into a mature plant, such, for example, as a tree. The container comprises a frame and a thin removable and discardable sleeve in all embodiments. The planting system further includes methods of planting the containers. Also, hand tools for planting the containers are disclosed.
