A breakaway assembly including a first connector and a second connector releasably coupleable to the first connector, wherein the assembly is movable between a first configuration in which the first and second connectors are releasably coupled and together define a fluid path through which fluid is flowable, wherein the fluid path includes an at least partially radially extending portion, and a second configuration in which the first and second connectors are not coupled together. The assembly is configured to move from the first configuration to the second configuration when a predetermined separation force is applied to the assembly. One of the first or second connectors has a shaft which defines or includes at least part of the fluid path therein, and the at least partially radially extending portion includes or is defined by an opening in the shaft.

Breakaway assembly

A breakaway assembly including a first connector and a second connector releasably coupleable to the first connector, wherein the assembly is movable between a first configuration in which the first and second connectors are releasably coupled and together define a fluid path through which fluid is flowable, and a second configuration in which the first and second connectors are not coupled together. The assembly is configured to move from the first configuration to the second configuration when a predetermined separation force is applied to the assembly. The assembly includes a closure valve positioned in one of the first or second connectors, wherein the closure valve is configured to be in an open position when the assembly is in the first configuration to allow fluid to flow therethrough, and to move to a closed position when the assembly moves to the second configuration to generally block the flow of fluid therethrough. At least part of one of the first or second connectors is axially movable relative to a remaining portion of the one of the first or second connectors, or is axially movable relative to the other one of the first or second connectors, when the assembly is in the first configuration and while the closure valve remains open, to accommodate force spikes.

A breakaway assembly including a first connector and a second connector releasably coupleable to the first connector. The assembly is movable between a first configuration in which the first and second connectors are releasably coupled and together define a fluid path through which fluid is flowable, and a second configuration in which the first and second connectors are not coupled together. The assembly is configured to move from the first configuration to the second configuration when a predetermined separation force is applied to the assembly. The assembly includes a closure valve positioned in one of the first or second connectors, wherein the closure valve is configured to be in an open position when the assembly is in the first configuration to allow fluid to flow therethrough, and to move to a closed position when the assembly moves to the second configuration to generally block the flow of fluid therethrough. The assembly includes an attraction member coupled to one of the first or second connectors, and a magnet unit coupled to the other one of the first or second connectors, wherein the attraction member and the magnet unit are magnetically attracted to each other when the assembly is in the first configuration to retain assembly in the first configuration. The magnet unit includes a first portion and a second portion coupled to the first portion that together define a channel therebetween, and the magnet unit further includes a plurality of magnets received in the channel.

A breakaway assembly including a first connector and a second connector releasably coupleable to the first connector. The assembly is movable between a first configuration in which the first and second connectors are releasably coupled and together define a fluid path through which fluid is flowable, wherein the fluid path includes an at least partially radially extending portion, and a second configuration in which the first and second connectors are not coupled together. The assembly is configured to move from the first configuration to the second configuration when a predetermined separation force is applied to the assembly. The assembly further includes a closure valve positioned in one of the first or second connectors, wherein the closure valve is configured to be in an open position when the assembly is in the first configuration to allow fluid to flow therethrough, and to move to a closed position blocking the at least partially radially extending portion of the fluid path when the assembly moves to the second configuration to generally block the flow of fluid therethrough.

A fluid dispensing system including a support structure, a hose configured to dispense fluid therethrough, and a support cable coupled to the hose. The hose is directly or indirectly releasably coupled to the support structure via the cable. The system further includes an extension and refraction mechanism configured to provide an adjustable effective length to the support cable.

Breakaway hose support

A nozzle system including a nozzle body configured to dispense fluid therethrough and a lever coupled to the nozzle body and movable in a lever plane between a non-operating position and an operating position. The nozzle system further includes a latch assembly having an engagement surface and a cam. The cam is coupled to or positioned on one of the nozzle body or the lever, and the engagement surface is coupled to or positioned on the other one of the nozzle body or the lever. The nozzle system is configured such that when the lever is moved from the non-operating position to the operating position, the engagement surface engages the cam to cause at least one of the engagement surface or the cam to move relative to the other such that the lever is automatically retainable in the operating position by the latch assembly. The cam does not pivot about an axis aligned with the lever plane when the lever is moved from one of the non-operating position or the operating position to the other one of the non-operating position or the operating position.

Hold-open latch assembly for dispensing device

A valve including a valve body having an area of weakness along which the valve body is predisposed to break. The valve further includes a closure valve positioned in the valve body, wherein the valve body includes a chamber configured to retain fluid therein to thereby maintain the closure valve in an open position. The valve is configured such when at least part of the valve body is sufficiently displaced or broken along the area of weakness at least part of the fluid in the chamber escapes the chamber, thereby causing or enabling the closure valve to move to a closed position.

Shear valve

A dispensing nozzle including a nozzle body defining a fluid path therein and configured such that fluid is flowable through the fluid path in a downstream direction. The nozzle includes an inlet valve in the fluid path and a vent valve in the fluid path positioned downstream of the inlet valve. The nozzle further includes a slide component positioned between the vent valve and the inlet valve, and an actuator that is manually movable between a first position and a second position. The actuator is operatively coupled to the slide component and configured such that operation of the actuator from the first position to the second position directly or indirectly causes the inlet valve to open and directly or indirectly causes the vent valve to close.

Nozzle for dispensing pressurized fluid

A breakaway assembly including a first connector including a ball portion movably received therein and a second connector including a coupling portion. The assembly is movable between a first configuration in which the coupling portion is removably received in the ball portion and the first and second connectors together define a fluid path through which fluid may flow, and a second configuration in which the coupling portion is not received in the ball portion. The assembly is configured to move from the first configuration to the second configuration when a sufficient separation force is applied to the assembly. The assembly further includes a valve positioned in one of the first or second connectors. The valve is configured to be in an open position when the assembly is in the first configuration to allow fluid to flow therethrough, and to move to a closed position.

Ball and socket breakaway connector

A nozzle including a dispensing path configured such that fluid is dispensable therethrough and into a vessel, and a sensing path in which a negative pressure is generated when fluid flows through the dispensing path. The nozzle further includes an attitude sensing device configured to sense an attitude of the nozzle. The attitude sensing device is in fluid communication with the sensing path and includes a ball received in a track. The track includes a generally spherical portion configured to receive the ball therein to generally block the sensing path when the nozzle is raised to a sufficient angle. The spherical portion has a radius generally corresponding to a radius of the ball.

Fuel dispensing nozzle with attitude sensing device

A fuel dispensing nozzle system including a spout configured to dispense fuel flowing therethrough, and a flow shaper positioned in the spout such that fuel flowing through the spout passes through the flow shaper. The flow shaper includes a central cavity and a plurality of outer cavities positioned about the central cavity. The central cavity and the plurality of outer cavities each have a L/D ratio, wherein the L/D ratio of the central cavity is less than the L/D ratio of each of the outer cavities.

Fuel flow shaper

A refueling system including a nozzle configured to dispense fuel through a fuel path thereof into a vehicle tank. The nozzle includes a vapor path configured such that vapor recovered from the vehicle tank during refueling is passable therethrough. The system further includes a sensing valve disposed in the vapor path, wherein the sensing valve is configured to generally block the associated part of the vapor path when a sufficient vacuum from the vehicle tank is applied to the sensing valve during refueling. The system also includes a regulator valve disposed in the vapor path and arranged in series with the sensing valve, the regulator valve being configured to regulate the level of vacuum applied by a vapor pump to the sensing valve.
