A curved battery cell may include (1) a positive terminal, (2) a negative terminal, (3) one or more curved electrodes, and (4) an outer case encasing the one or more curved electrodes that includes at least one curved surface having a non-uniform radius of curvature. A curved battery pack may include (1) a first curved battery cell with a first outer surface having a first non-uniform curvature and (2) a second curved battery cell with a second outer surface having a second non-uniform curvature. A battery system includes a plurality of battery cells connected in parallel. Each battery cell includes a positive and negative tab. The battery system also includes a plurality of thermal switch devices (e.g., temperature cut off (TCO) or positive temperature coefficient (PTC) devices). Each thermal switch device is electrically coupled to a respective cell. The battery system further includes a rigid-flex circuit board comprising a plurality of rigid regions. Each rigid region is physically and electrically connected to an adjacent rigid region by a respective flexible region. Each rigid region is electrically coupled to respective positive and negative tabs of a respective battery cell. Each thermal switch device prevents abnormal current flow (e.g., by limiting the flow of current at high temperatures) between a first battery cell that is coupled to the thermal switch device and a second battery cell that is adjacent to the first battery cell.

A system is provided for using data based on user habit information or user monitoring. A monitoring device has one or more sensors that detect or measure user information selected from of at least one of, a user's activities, behaviors and habit information, and a user's health. The monitoring device includes circuitry that provides at least identification of the monitoring device, a communication system which reads and transmits an identification of the monitoring device, and a pathway system. A telemetry system is provided with a database of user ID's and is in communication with the monitoring device. A device determines a user's melanin level at a place where the monitoring device is positioned on the user. The user's melanin level is used with monitoring or measuring information relative to the user.
