Novel indole compounds are disclosed. Also disclosed are methods for using the compounds to treat human and animal disease, pharmaceutical compositions of the compounds, and kits including the compounds.

Indole compounds useful as serotonin selective agents

Compounds and compositions that are salvinorin A and salvinorin B derivatives that demonstrate selectivity and/or potency for the k-opioid receptor (KOR), allowing for their use as medicines, as well as chemical probes (both radiolabeled and cold) for fields utilizing the techniques of radiolabeled binding assays.

Agents with selective &#x3ba;-opioid receptor affinity

Compounds which have enhanced affinity and selectivity for 5-HT receptors have been identified. These compounds can be used therapeutically in the treatment of mental disorders via administration in a pharmacologically acceptable delivery route to a patient in need thereof, or can be used to identify antagonists of 5-HT receptors by well known screening methodologies which could themselves be used in the treatment of mental disorders.
