A child monitor system that combines the functionality of a prenatal monitor and a conventional nursery room monitor in a single device. The device comprising a local unit and a remote unit. Each unit having the capability of receiving and outputting acoustic audio signals as well as the capability of transmitting and receiving these signals to and from the units. The device also comprises a selection device for allowing a user to select from a plurality of operating modes.

Prenatal-to-infant monitoring device

A frame for a child seat includes an upper frame and a lower frame connected to the upper frame. The lower frame has left and right members that can be connected to each other such that the left and right members are positionable relative to one another between a first position and a second position when the lower frame is disconnected from the upper frame. A second frame can be rotatable between an angularly spaced position and a collapsed position along bends formed on a first frame portion.

Child seat

An adjustable children's rocking chair is shown that can be readily converted without the use of tools between a configuration where it is used to support an infant in a more reclined position, and a configuration where it is suitable for use as a rocking chair by a toddler. The rocking chair includes a seat portion, a support portion connected to the seat portion, and the support portion being pivotably connected to a rocker base and being adjustable in length. The support portion includes a front frame assembly, such as a pair of front legs, and a rear frame assembly, such as a pair of rear legs, with each of the front legs being pivotably connected to a respective rear leg through a detachable joint. The seat portion includes a back support portion that is formed by a U-shaped seat back tube slipped inside a pocket in soft goods. Both ends of the U-shaped seat back tube are connected to the detachable joints pivotably connecting the rear legs to the front legs. The seat portion also includes a bottom formed by a rigid board permanently attached to a transverse member extending between the front legs and slipped into a second pocket in the soft goods. As the rear legs are telescopically changed in length, the legs pivot relative to each other and to the rocker base, with a resulting change in inclination of the seat back tube and back support portion.

A play yard has an oval-shaped upper frame. The upper frame is made of two u-shaped tubes and is supported by two vertical posts at either end of the play yard. The ends of each of the u-shaped tubes of the upper frame are connected to each post so as to be able to rotate about the posts. Located on each post is a slider which can slide up and down the post. Each slider is held in place by a button on each post. Diagonal support braces connect the sliders to each of the u-shaped tubes of the upper frame. When the play yard is in use, the upper frame is supported by the two vertical posts and the diagonal support braces located on either side of the play yard. The lower end of each post is connected to two opposing cantilevered legs at a hub. Each of the legs is substantially u-shaped and is pivotally connected at the hub in order to be able to rotate about the posts.

Collapsible play yard

A Child's stroller including a latch mechanism for convenient folding and unfolding of the stroller, a bolster/tray that pivotally mounts to the upper handlebars of the stroller and is adapted for receiving an infant carrier or car seat for convenient transport of an infant passenger thereof in the stroller. The latch mechanism utilizes a latching handle that pivotally engages a spring loaded collar for disengagement of the stroller frame.

A multi-purpose travel bag may be used as a shoulder bag, a child booster seat or a backpack. The travel bag has a strap that may be configured in three different ways to accommodate each of the uses for the travel bag. The travel bag has multiple mounting positions to provide the various configurations of the strap.

Children's play space

A removable front wheel assembly for a stroller is provided that is able to be disassembled from the stroller frame for shipment and assembled by the consumer upon receipt for use. The invention has applicability to any stroller configuration where, in the stroller's folded configuration, the front wheel assembly comprises the outer-most structure of the stroller which defines at least one dimension for the shipping cube of the stroller. The front wheel assembly, which is comprised of the stroller's wheels, lower front leg tubes, framing support structure, and a footrest, if provided, is joined to the stroller frame at a location external to an outer-most frame structure hinge point so as to reduce the complexity of the task of assembling the stroller for the consumer. A swaged joint and connector is utilized to connect the lower front leg tubes of the front wheel assembly to the upper front leg tubes of the stroller's frame.

An apparatus and method for securely and releasably attaching load-bearing soft goods to a frame without requiring the use of tools for attachment and detachment is disclosed. A connection mechanism, or buckle, that is comprised of a first, male connector portion and a second, female connector portion is provided. The male connector, which is fixedly secured to the soft good, is releasably received within the female connector, which is fixedly secured to the frame, in order to releasably attach the soft good to the frame. The male connector contains a thin, rectangular attachment tab that provides for fixedly attaching the soft good to the male connector. The female connector is directly secured to the frame, such as by riveting. By fixedly securing one portion of the connection mechanism to the frame for mating with another portion, it is obvious to the user where the attachments of the soft good to the frame are to be made. The attached soft good can support the weight of a child occupant and can only be detached from the frame by applying a force that is directed to decoupling the buckle. Several buckles are disposed around the periphery of the soft good and the frame in order to adequately support the soft good.

A footrest/cover member is attached to the frame of an infant or child carrier such as a stroller. The footrest/cover member is pivotally attached to the stroller frame by a bar traversing the two front leg portions. The footrest cover member can serve as a footrest for a stroller or may be rotated upward to engage a resilient tab on a grab bar, thus enclosing the stroller leg area when the carrier is serving as a bassinet/carriage.

A cover member is attached to the frame of an infant or child carrier such as a stroller. The cover member relates to a removable flexible covering for a laterally extending member such as a grab bar residing between a pair of opposed side portions on a child carrier frame. The upper aspects of the cover may be draped around the grab bar and releasably secured to the grab. In a like manner, the lower aspects of the cover may be releasably secured to the footrest.
