A provider device for advanced patient communication and methods for making and using same. According to one embodiment, a provider device comprises a receiver for receiving one or more messages from a central processing server, each of the one or more messages reflecting a patient request, an urgency level associated with the patient request, one or more action items associated with the patient request, and a lapse in time since receiving the patient request. The provider device also includes a display for displaying, based on the one or more messages, a patient listing including status information corresponding to one or more patients.

A patient communication device for advanced patient communication and methods for making and using same. According to one embodiment, a patient communication device comprises a selection input mechanism for generating a message on a display, the message reflecting a patient request and an urgency level associated with the patient request. The selection input mechanism includes one or more of a button, keyboard and a touch screen. Further, the patient communication device includes a transmitter for transmitting the message to a central processing server and a status indicator on the display, the status indicator representing a transmission status associated with the message.

A magnetic resonance (MR) system () generates an attenuation or density map. The system () includes a MR scanner () defining an examination volume () and at least one processor (). The at least one processor () is programmed to control the MR scanner () to apply imaging sequences to the examination volume (). In response to the imaging sequences, MR data sets of the examination volume () are received and analyzed to identify different tissue and/or material types found in pixels or voxels of the attenuation or density map. One or more tissue-specific and/or material-specific attenuation or density values are assigned to each pixel or voxel of the attenuation or density map based on the tissue and/or material type(s) identified as being in each pixel or voxel during the analysis of the MR data sets. In one embodiment, the tissue and/or material types are identified on the basis of a time series of MR phase images.

A method and system for advanced patient communication have been disclosed. According to one embodiment, a computer-implemented method comprises providing a patient communication device through which a patient communicates a first message from a hospital bed. The first message is received at a central processing server. The first message is processed to identify an urgency level of the message. One or more additional messages are generated based on the first message. The one or more additional messages are transmitted to specific health care provider devices of specific health care providers who are expected to respond to the patient.

A method of treating a tumor or cancer in a subject includes administering to cancer or tumor cells of the subject a radiation sensitizing amount of a poly(ethylene oxide)-poly(propylene oxide) copolymer and administering radiation therapy to the cancer or tumor cells sensitized by the poly(ethylene oxide)-poly(propylene oxide) copolymer.
