An implantable leadless pacing device and delivery system may comprise an implantable leadless pacing device and a catheter configured to deliver the implantable leadless packing device to a target location. The implantable device may comprise a power source, circuitry operatively coupled to the power source, a housing at least partially enclosing the circuitry, a first electrode secured relative to and offset from a longitudinal axis of the housing and exposed exterior to the housing, and a fixation mechanism secured relative to the housing. The fixation mechanism may comprise at least one tine configured to move between an elongated delivery configuration and a curved deployed configuration and radially offset from the first electrode. The catheter may comprise a distal holding section defining a cavity configured to receive the implantable leadless pacing device.

Fixation for leadless cardiac devices

An implantable medical device includes a housing. A first ID tag is secured relative to the housing at a first position and defines a first radiopaque manufacturer code section that visually identifies a manufacturer of the implantable medical device. A second ID tag is secured relative to the housing at a second position that is offset from the first position in at least one dimension. The second ID tag defines a second radiopaque manufacturer code section that also visually identifies the manufacturer of the implantable medical device.

An IMD may include a housing with a controller and a power supply disposed within the housing. A distal electrode may be supported by a distal electrode support that biases the distal electrode toward an extended position in which the distal electrode extends distally from the distal end of the housing and allows the distal electrode to move proximally relative to the extended position in response to an axial force applied to the distal electrode in the proximal direction. In some cases, the distal electrode support may include a tissue ingrowth inhibiting outer sleeve that extends along the length of the distal electrode support and is configured to shorten when the distal electrode moves proximally relative to the extended position and to lengthen when the distal electrode moves back distally toward the extended position in order to accommodate movement of the distal electrode.

An implantable medical device (IMD) may include a fixation module, and a device module that is configured to be releasably connected to the fixation module. The device module may have a proximal end and a distal end, and may include a power source and a controller that is operably coupled to the power source. The controller may be configured to sense cardiac electrical activity via two or more electrodes and/or deliver pacing pulses via two or more electrodes. The device module may include a first part of a releasable connector while the fixation module may include a second part of the releasable connector, wherein the first part of the releasable connector and the second part of the releasable connector cooperate to releasably connect the device module with the fixation module.

An implantable pulse generator includes a device housing containing pulse generator circuitry and a header connected to the device housing. The header includes a core assembly defining first and second lead bore cavities sized for receiving terminal pins of leads, first and second labels, and an outer layer. The first label is printed onto a surface of the core assembly proximate the first lead bore cavity and includes a first color. The second label is printed onto the surface of the core assembly proximate the second lead bore cavity and includes a second color different from the first color. The outer layer is overmolded over the core assembly so as to encapsulate the first and second labels and to allow access to the first and second lead bore cavities.

An implantable leadless pacing device may comprise a power source and circuitry operatively coupled to the power source. The circuitry configured to pace a patient's heart and/or sense electrical activity of the patient's heart. A housing may at least partially enclose the circuitry. The pacing device may further include a first electrode secured relative to the housing and a fixation mechanism secured relative to the housing. The fixation mechanism may comprise a plurality of tines configured to move between an elongated delivery configuration and a curved deployed configuration. Each tine of the plurality of tines may include a radiopaque material.

Fixation methods for leadless cardiac devices

An implantable medical device has a housing with a fixation element disposed adjacent a first end of the housing and a retrieval element disposed adjacent a second end of the housing. An outer housing surface includes a first region having a first surface texture with a first average surface roughness and a second region having a second surface texture with a second average surface roughness that is different from the first average surface roughness. An insulative layer includes a first region overlying the first surface texture and a second region overlying the second surface texture, wherein an outer surface of the insulative layer emulates the first surface texture in the first region of the insulative layer and emulates the second surface texture in the second region of the insulative layer.

A multipolar lead evaluation device may be configured to easily permit electrical contact to be made between a pacing system analyzer and the terminal pin and each of the terminal contacts of an implantable lead without damaging the implantable lead. Alligator clips may be used to secure electrical conductors from the pacing system analyzer to spring contact clips disposed within the lead evaluation device.
