An interface circuit in an electronic device may contend for access to a shared communication channel on behalf of the electronic device and a recipient electronic device, where the access has a duration. Then, the electronic device may provide a schedule frame intended for the recipient electronic device that includes information that specifies one or more time slots during the duration that are associated with the recipient electronic device and one or more communication functions of the recipient electronic device in the one or more time slots. Moreover, the electronic device may provide a data frame with data intended for the recipient electronic device. In response, the electronic device may receive a response frame associated with the recipient electronic device, where the response frame is received during at least one of the one or more time slots.

Methods and apparatus for reducing electromagnetic interference resultant from data transmission over a high-speed audio/visual interface. In one embodiment, an HDMI source device is disclosed. The HDMI source device includes a wireless interface and an HDMI interface coupled with an active filter circuit topology. The active filter circuit topology includes a pair of differential signal lanes; a passive filter circuit disposed within each of the pair of differential signal lanes; a plurality of active filter circuits, with at least a first active filter circuit disposed on one side of the passive filter circuit and at least a second active filter circuit disposed on the other side of the passive filter circuit; a plurality of diodes, with each of the plurality of active filter circuits coupled with a respective diode; and switching logic coupled with the plurality of diodes. Methods of operating the HDMI source device and HDMI systems are also disclosed.

Methods and apparatus for reducing electromagnetic interference resultant from data transmission over a high-speed audio/visual interface

Techniques are disclosed to select display settings for a display device. Device capabilities may be read from a display device and a determination made whether the device capabilities support other display formats than are read from the display, for example, a high dynamic range (HDR) format or a high resolution format. When the device capabilities do not include an format supported by a video source, video may be driven from the video source to the display device in the format and, if confirmation is received that the display device displays the driven video, settings may be stored for the display device identifying the format as a one supported by the display device. Additionally, interconnect may be tested by estimating noise levels generated by the interconnect to a network connection and/or by estimating network throughput both when video is driven over the interconnect and when it is not. Display formats may be selected for the device based on a maximum data rate of a network connection that can be maintained while the interconnect carries video.
