A radiopaque anchor and delivery device system may comprise a pigtail catheter and a radiopaque anchor. The pigtail catheter may be a dual lumen catheter configured to deploy the radiopaque anchor and delivery a radiopaque fluid or contrast agent. The implantable radiopaque anchor may be slidably disposed within and deployable from a lumen of the elongate shaft. A method for deploying an implantable radiopaque anchor may include advancing a pigtail catheter through the vasculature to a target location; identifying an implant location; forming a channel in a tissue at the implant location; and deploying an implantable radiopaque anchor within the channel.

Radiopaque marker and delivery system

An endoscopic system may include an endoscope including a handle and an elongate shaft extending distally therefrom. The handle may include a non-motorized and non-ratcheting actuation mechanism configured to articulate a distal tip portion of the elongate shaft. The distal tip portion may be articulatable in response to a manually applied force exerted upon the actuation mechanism. Removal of the manually applied force may lock the distal tip portion in its then-current configuration. The non-motorized and non-ratcheting actuation mechanism may include a clutch mechanism actuatable in response to an electrical signal generated in response to sensing a user-applied force to the actuating mechanism by a strain gauge.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to imaging a body part using sounds. In embodiments, a system comprises a motion sensor and a processing device communicatively coupled to the motion sensor. The motion sensor is configured to sense an acceleration wave produced by a sound emitted by a source and generate acceleration measurements in response to sensing the acceleration wave, wherein the source is associated with the body part of a subject. The processing device is configured to receive the acceleration measurements and determine a location of the source using a location of the motion sensor and the acceleration measurements. In addition, the processing device is configured to image the body part of the subject using the determined location of the source and the acceleration measurements.

This document discusses, among other things, systems and methods for managing pain in a patient. A system may include sensors to sense physiological or functional signals, and a pain analyzer that generates a pain score using the sensed physiological or functional signals and a fusion model. The system includes a calibration module that calibrates the fusion model based on measurements from the sensed physiological or functional signals and a reference pain quantification corresponding to multiple pain intensities. A pain score may be generated using the calibrated fusion model. The system can additionally include a neurostimulator that controls the delivery of pain therapy by adjusting one or more stimulation parameters based on the pain score.

A system may include one or more sensors configured to sense from the subject information corresponding to emotional reaction to pain, such as emotional expression. The emotional expression includes facial or vocal expression. A medical device may comprise a distal tip having a viewing element, a lighting element, and at least one feature configured to removably couple the distal tip to a shaft. The medical device may also comprise a working channel coupled to the distal tip and defining a central lumen configured to receive a tool. A wall of the working channel may define at least one additional lumen. The working channel may be configured to be removably inserted into the shaft. The medical device may also comprise at least one of a wire, a cable, or a conduit passing through the at least one additional lumen.

A virtual or augmented reality system is disclosed which is capable of both (i) evaluating prospective implantable neurostimulator patient candidates, and (ii) determining optimal stimulation settings for already-implanted neurostimulation patients. Physiological sensors are included with the system to provide objective measurements relevant to a patient's symptoms, such as pain in a Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) system. Such objective measurements are determined during the presentation of various virtual or augmented environments, and can be useful to determining which patients are suitable candidates to consider for implantation. Stimulation settings for already-implanted patients may be adjusted while presenting a virtual or augmented environment to the patient, with objective measurements being determined for each stimulation setting. Such objective measurements can then be used to determine optimal stimulation settings for the patient.

An implant system and method of delivery includes a catheter system including a sling catheter having a plurality of distal openings and a delivery catheter, disposed within the sling catheter and having a distal port. Suture coupled anchors may be sequentially delivered by the delivery catheter to a cardiac treatment site by aligning the port of the delivery catheter with different openings of the sling catheter and pushing the anchor through the port and the sling catheter to embed the anchor into cardiac tissue such as tissue of a papillary muscle. Each anchor may have a linear configuration for translation within the delivery catheter and a biased configuration that inhibits its reentry into the sling catheter once deployed. Once all anchors are deployed, the suture may be tightened, the anchored portion of the sling catheter may be detached, and the catheter system withdrawn.

A system includes a first sensor circuit to sense a first signal indicative of a functional state of the subject, a second sensor circuit to sense a second signal different from the first signal, and a controller circuit. The controller circuit may determine an operating mode of the second sensor circuit according to the sensed first signal, trigger the second senor circuit to sense the second signal under the determined operating mode, and generate a pain score using at least the second signal sensed under the determined operating mode. The pain score may be output to a patient or used for closed-loop control of a pain therapy.

An example of a system for monitoring and treating respiratory distress in a patient may include one or more non-invasive monitoring devices to acquire patient condition signals and a respiratory distress monitoring circuit to monitor a state of the respiratory distress using the patient condition signals. The respiratory distress monitoring circuit may include a signal processing circuit to generate patient condition parameters using the patient condition signals and a respiratory distress analyzer, which may include a parameter analysis circuit and a notification circuit. The parameter analysis circuit may be configured to produce a patient condition metric being a function of the patient condition parameters and to perform prediction and/or detection of an exacerbation of the respiratory distress based on the patient condition metric. The notification circuit may be configured to produce an alert notifying a result of the performance of the prediction and/or detection.

A system may include sensors configured to sense physiological or functional signals, and a pain analyzer to generate signal metrics from the physiological or functional signals. The pain analyzer also generates weight factors corresponding to the signal metrics. The weight factors may indicate the signal metrics reliability in representing an intensity of the pain. The pain analyzer generates a pain score using a plurality of signal metrics and a plurality of weight factors. The pain score may be output to a user or a process. The system may additionally include an electrostimulator to generate and deliver closed-loop pain therapy according to the pain score.

The physiological signals may include an electroencephalography signal, a magnetoencephalography signal, or a brain-evoked potential. The system may extract from the brain activity signal one or more signal metrics indicative of strength or pattern of brain electromagnetic activity associated with pain, and generate a pain score using the one or more signal metrics. The pain score can be output to a patient or a process. The system may select an electrode configuration for pain-relief electrostimulation based on the pain score, and deliver a closed-loop pain therapy according to the selected electrode configuration.
