A filter cartridge which has an insertable center tube including an upper part ( ) and a lower part ( ) which can be coupled together in the cartridge by a snap fastener ( ). The snap fastener ( ) is configured such that it can be made without undercuts by simple injection molding dies. Therefore the filter cartridge with the center tube according to the invention is very economical.

A filter element having a first tube 2 and a second tube 3, the outer circumferential surface of the first tube 2 being surrounded by a nonwoven layer 4, and the second tube 3 surrounding the first tube 2. On the outer periphery of the second tube 3 there is a yarn and/or paper winding 5, and a shrink tube 6 presses the yarn and/or paper winding 5 against the second tube.

Filter

A filter insert for the filtering of the fresh air supplied to a motor vehicle interior has an accordion-folded filter element which is self-supporting. Lateral strips coated with an adhesive are provided on the faces which extend on the left and on the right. On the faces which extend in parallel to the folding, angle strips are arranged whose first leg extends along at least three fold edges. The filter element is surrounded along the faces by a foamed-material sealing.

Filter insert

An air filter for an internal combustion engine having a housing 10 with an air inlet 11 on the raw air side and an air outlet 12 on the clean air side. The air outlet has a tubular projection 27 extending into the housing 10 on which a filter insert 15 can be removably fastened. Air passes through the filter insert 15 radially from the outside in. To seal the filter insert 15 on the tubular projection 27, a radial gasket 23 is provided which has an attachment portion clamped by an inwardly extended flange on an end plate 19 of the filter insert, and which has a seal portion with a sealing area arranged adjacent the attachment portion.
