The present invention relates to a vulcanizing mold for elastomeric or plastomeric to toroidal articles, comprising, a first cheek and a second cheek being axially opposed to each other, the first cheek and the second cheek delimit the flanks of an article to be molded; and, a crown of radially contractile and expansible sectors interposed between the first cheek and the second cheek which delimit a radially outer surface of the article to be molded, the sectors comprising two connected pieces wherein a first connected piece is a matrix that has a radially inner surface substantially corresponding to a portion of the crown surface of the article to be molded, and a second connecting piece which is a support for the matrix that has a radially outer surface inclined with respect to an axis of the mold, the support having means for solidly locking the matrix onto the support and the matrix being freely movable with respect to a corresponding support in at least the axial direction along the coupling surface between the first connecting piece and the second connecting piece; the support and a corresponding matrix therefor being operatively associated with one another through at least one fixing device that is alternatively shiftable between two operative positions, a first operative position being a working position wherein the matrix is solidly locked on the support, and a second operative position being a rest position wherein the matrix and the support are freely movable with respect to one another.

A device for rapidly disassembling an extractor unit from the driving mechanism of a press for vulcanizing pneumatic tires is positioned on the lower part of the open vulcanizing mould, while the extractor unit comprises a body of a substantially annular shape apt to be fixed to a mobile shaft of the vulcanizing press through first connecting means comprising a first set of radial teeth obtained on said shaft and a second set of radial teeth obtained on said body and able to cooperate with said teeth of the first set to block the body with respect to the shaft in consequence of a rotation of the former with respect to the latter; the device comprises also dragging means including a disc which rotates in consequence of the action of a lever, hand operated, said disc is provided with a plurality of stakes whose axis is parallel to the axis of said body, said dragging means being able to cooperate with said extractor unit so that said stakes are inserted into holes of said body to make this latter rotate with respect to said first shaft in consequence of the rotation of said disc so as to release said second set of teeth from said first set of teeth and to separate said extractor unit from said shaft.

There is described a tire vulcanizing press, comprising a frame provided with a lower supporting plate for allowing a mold for vulcanizing the tires to rest upon, and an upper plate that is mobile with respect to the lower plate. The mold comprises a lower cheek, an upper cheek that is mobile with respect to the lower cheek, and a series of sectors, that are mobile with respect to an annular-containing element, each of which is radially mobile with respect to the upper cheek. The mold further comprises a connecting means for fixing the lower cheek to the lower plate, and the upper cheek and the annular element to the upper mobile cheek, and which comprises a series of rotating bodies on the lower and upper plates which are actionable from the outer side of the plates with respect to the mold.

Made to tire-vulcanizing molds

The subject matter of the present invention concerns presses for vulcanizing vehicle-wheel tires and in particular, those presses provided with a centripetal-type mold. For the purpose of optional heating of the sectors of the mold while avoiding heat-dispersion, heating-fluid losses, or any lowering of the temperature during the moving periods of the mold, there is provided, in the body of each sector, a network of channels that are connected, for example, through flexible tubing, to networks of the other adjacent sectors, in such a way as to realize a closed circuit with regard to the outside ambient, within which circuit the heating-fluid is permanently caused to circulate.

Devices for vulcanizing tires

An apparatus for vulcanizing a vehicle tire comprises upper and lower platens supporting mold shell sections which when mounted one on the other form a mold enclosing a mold cavity. The upper platen is moved first vertically and then laterally with respect to the lower platen by a bull gear crank. A vulcanizing bladder is stretched by a piston rod of a fluid-dynamic piston-cylinder assembly through the opening of a vehicle tire casing disposed in the mold cavity to facilitate loading of the casing in the mold cavity. The apparatus is also provided with a second fluid actuated piston-cylinder assembly to move the upper platen while maintaining the bladder standing sufficiently, in relation to the lower plane of the mold, in such a way as to adapt the press even for unloading tires having dimensions larger than those of the usual tires for which the apparatus was originally built.
