The invention concerns a test system for carrying out blood sugar tests with a diagnostic tape cassette which comprises a windable analytical test tape for detecting an analyte and a cassette housing accommodating the test tape, and a test device which has a device housing for inserting and removing the tape cassette and a measuring unit for detecting the analyte on the test tape. According to the invention it is proposed that the tape cassette can be detachably fastened by positioning elements on a platform mounted in the device housing and that the measuring unit is rigidly attached on the platform or can be engaged therewith.

Test system

Test elements are disclosed for detecting at least one analyte in a body fluid. The test element include at least one strip-shaped carrier element and at least one test field having at least one test chemistry for detecting the analyte. The test element has a symmetrical shape such that the test element may be inserted in one of at least two different correct measurement orientations into a test element receptacle of a testing device, which includes a detection device. In the different orientations, at least one analyte-induced change in the test chemistry of the test field is detectable. Test systems including the test elements and methods of detecting at least one analyte in the body fluid using the test elements also are disclosed.

The present invention provides an integrated measuring device that includes a blood collection system for collecting blood for diagnostic purposes. The blood collection system comprises an electric motor which provides energy for propelling a lancet. The blood collection system comprises a mechanical energy store in which the electric energy that is converted by the motor is stored in the form of mechanical energy. The use of a mechanical energy store allows the use of known mechanical drive elements. The blood collection system can also be electrically activated and is thus easy to use for the operator. The packaging system comprises an outer packaging, which accommodates a first desiccant supply, and a magazine with an unused test element supply. In exemplary embodiments, the magazine includes a second desiccant supply.
