A break-off bolt for securing a conductor within a connector includes a first thread section, a second thread section and a torque-limiting section arranged between the first thread section and the second thread section. The first thread section and the second thread section comprise the same external thread having a minor diameter. The torque-limiting section has at least one of no thread with an outer diameter larger than the minor diameter of the external thread or an external thread having a minor diameter larger than the minor diameter of the external thread of the first and second thread sections.

A cable lug for a connector includes a first portion having a receiving end receiving a cable and a second portion extending from the first portion and having a through hole through which a stud can be passed. An electric connector comprises a wall surrounding a receptacle that receives a strand of an electric wire and having a threaded hole extending through the wall and opening into the receptacle, and a fastener bolt screwed into the threaded hole and clamping the electric wire. A fastener bolt for clamping an electric wire includes a bolt part and a nut part. The bolt part has a head section, a thread section, and a shearing section connecting the head section and the thread section. The nut part is screwed onto the thread section. The shearing section is configured to break if a predetermined fastening torque is exceeded. The thread section is hollow and has a predetermined tensile breaking strength.

The head is configured to transmit rotary motion to the threaded portion through the shank. The ring is disposed on the shank and has a ring thread and a tab configured to ensure continuity between the ring thread and the threaded portion. The shear zone joins the shank to the threaded portion and a complementary recess, disposed on the threaded portion, is engageable with the tab to ensure rotation locking of the ring in relation to the threaded portion.
