An instrument () for powderous or pasteous substances has a control unit () and a dispensing unit (). The control unit is configured as a grip handle to be handheld. The dispensing unit is designed for removable seating in the holder device. A vertically movable shutter bolt () can open a discharge orifice (). The control unit () has an actuator () directed at the shutter bolt, with a motor (), a transmission (), an actuator element () and a drive shaft (), oriented vertically when operated. The drive shaft () can be engaged with the shutter bolt. Continuing and increased actuation of the actuator element moves the shutter bolt into an opening range where the shutter bolt opens up the discharge orifice to a variable, position-dependent extent, allowing the material to flow into a target vessel.

Handheld dosage-dispensing instrument for powderous or pasteous dosage material

A method for the preparation of samples by means of a dosage-dispensing device, a weighing system with a load receiver, a processor unit, a memory unit, and an exchangeable dosage-dispensing unit. A target container is set on the load receiver. The dosage-dispensing unit and/or the target container includes electrically insulating material. The dosage-dispensing unit has the capability to change positions relative to the load receiver. While the dosage-dispensing unit is in a first position and a target container is on the load receiver, a starting weight value is determined, the dosage-dispensing unit is brought into a second position, a dosage-dispensing cycle delivers a dosage material in a predefined amount from the dosage-dispensing unit into the target container by means of the processor unit, the dosage-dispensing unit is brought into the first position, and while the dosage-dispensing unit is at rest in the first position, an ending weight value is determined.

Method for the preparation of samples

An apparatus and a method detect the presence of solid particles in a liquid phase, where an at least partially transparent container encloses the solid particles and the liquid phase. The apparatus includes a camera to make digitized images in the form of arrays of pixels with their associated pixel values. The apparatus also includes an agitator device to hold the container and to impart movements to the container, transmitting kinetic energy to the mixture. The camera is aimed at a transparent portion of the container to take images of the mixture in motion. A processor unit, in electronic communication with the camera, receives and processes the digitized images of the mixture in motion, resulting in the generation of an analytical representation of the solid particles in the liquid. In this manner, the state of dissolution of the solid particles may be determined.

Apparatus and method for the detection of solid substances in a liquid phase

In the method of optimizing the dosage-dispensing process of a dosage-dispensing device, an examination takes place prior to a first dosage delivery, whether at least one flow parameter relating to the dosage-dispensing process is stored in the memory module of the dosage-dispensing unit. If a stored flow parameter is found to be present, said flow parameter is called up from the memory module. If no store flow parameter is present, a flow parameter is requested by the user by entering a request, a flow parameter is called up from a central database, or at least one flow parameter is determined by means of the first run of the dosage-dispensing process based on a default setting of the dosage-dispensing program. With the at least one flow parameter, the dosage-dispensing program is directly adapted, at least one run of the dosage-dispensing process is performed with the adapted dosage-dispensing program, and/or the at least one flow parameter is stored in the memory module. As a prerequisite for performing the method according to the invention, a dosage-dispensing device is required which comprises a drive device with a control- and regulation unit operable to execute a dosage-dispensing program, wherein a dosage-dispensing unit can be set in place in, and removed from, the drive device and wherein the dosage-dispensing unit is equipped with at least one memory module.

Method of optimizing dosage-dispensing processes, and dosage-dispensing device

A work cabinet with a work chamber that contains, on a temporary basis, a material being worked upon has a transfer opening connecting the work chamber with an ambient space of the cabinet. The transfer opening permits access to the worked material and gives access to the work chamber. A connected ventilating device provides a lower-than-ambient pressure in the work chamber. The work cabinet further has a printer transfer opening for connecting the work chamber to the delivery outlet for the printed output of a printer that is set up in the vicinity of the work cabinet. The delivery outlet for the printer output may reach through the printer transfer opening into the work chamber or it may merely adjoin the printer transfer opening.

A laboratory instrument with a housing containing a weighing cell has a working compartment that is connected to the housing. The working compartment has a floor, a top cover, a rear wall, a front wall and two sidewalls. Arranged in the working compartment is a load receiver which is connected to the weighing cell. Also connected to the housing is at least one guiding device which serves to guide a linear movement and simultaneous swivel movement of individual portions of the front wall or the entire front wall.

A balance () has a weighing pan () for receiving a load () to be weighed, and an electronic weighing module () which includes a measuring unit (). The balance is equipped with an electrostatic sensor () which is arranged so that accumulated electrostatic charges which reside on the load can be detected as the load is placed or about to be placed on the weighing pan. The balance is operated by using the electrostatic sensor to detect electrostatic charges, transferring information on a value characterizing the magnitude of the detected electrostatic charges to the measuring unit, comparing the value against a threshold value, and triggering an action of the electronic weighing module based on the comparison.

A balance () with a weighing pan () inside a weighing compartment () enclosed by a draft shield () has at least one thermoelectric module () that is arranged outside of the weighing compartment () and thermally connected to a stationary part of the balance (). At least one vertical wall () of the draft shield () has a lower end portion in thermal connection with the thermoelectric module (). The vertical wall () is configured in such a way that a temperature gradient develops in the vertical wall (), wherein the temperature increases from the bottom to the top of the wall ().

In a method of weighing a load on a balance ( ), the load is passed between three different locations, i.e., a stationary holding location ( ), a load-handling device, and a load-receiver portion of the balance. At least one of the locations has vertically stacked load-receiving positions. The load receiving positions are horizontally cantilevered forks or beams on which the weighing loads are either set down or suspended.

Method of weighing a load on a balance and apparatus for performing the method

A dryer mounted in a housing with a balance for determining the moisture content of material to be weighed which is in a dish placed in the balance and is subjected to a heat source. The dish is placed in a dish support device which can be placed in and removed from the dryer together with the dish. The dish can be inserted into the dish support device and removed from the dish support device manually and from the side. An upwardly bent inner edge of a support ring prevents impurities resting on the support ring from unintentionally dropping into the dish.
