A component of a rotary machine extends to an axial direction and a radial direction vertical thereto, and has an inner channel, extending from a first end of a core of a center of the component and to a second end at a radial limiting surface of the component and which is at least partially closed. A blank includes the core of the component and is limited by an outer surface in the radial direction. The blank is subtractively processed in a first subtractive process step, such that an outer contour is elaborated in the area of the outer surface, which extends in the radial direction, and a part of the channel is manufactured, which radially extends in the blank to the first end. The channel is formed by a build-up process on the blank.

Method for manufacturing or for repairing a component of a rotary machine as well as a component manufactured or repaired using such a method

A multistage centrifugal pump for conveying a fluid includes a pump housing, two first stage impellers, a last stage impeller and a shaft. The two first stage impellers and the last stage impeller convey the fluid from a housing inlet to a housing outlet. The shaft rotates each impeller about an axial direction, each impeller comprising a suction side to receive the fluid and a discharge side to discharge the fluid. The last stage impeller is a double suction impeller, having a first suction side and a second suction side, and the last stage impeller is arranged between the two first stage impellers with respect to the axial direction. Each impeller of the two first stage impellers is arranged with the suction side of a respective first stage impeller facing one of the first and second suction sides of the last stage impeller.

Multistage centrifugal pump for conveying a fluid

A method for manufacturing a component of a rotary machine, the component extending to an axial direction and a radial direction vertical thereto, and has an inner channel, extending from a first end of a core of a center of the component and to a second end at a radial limiting surface of the component and which is at least partially closed. A blank includes the core of the component and is limited by an outer surface in the radial direction. The blank is subtractively processed in a first subtractive process step, such that an outer contour is elaborated in the area of the outer surface, which extends in the radial direction, and a part of the channel is manufactured, which radially extends in the blank to the first end. The channel is finished by a build-up process on the blank.

A volute casing includes a chamber, an outlet passage, and a cutwater to direct fluid to the outlet passage. The cutwater includes an inner surface, an outer surface and a leading edge joining the inner and outer surfaces and has a cross-sectional contour in a midplane perpendicular to the axial direction. The cross-sectional contour includes a starting point at the leading edge, and a minimum point on the inner surface, the starting point defined by a tangent to the leading edge, the tangent intersecting the central axis, and the minimum point defined by a location, at which the inner surface has a minimum distance from the central axis. A straight profile chord located in the cross-sectional contour, and extending from the cutwater starting point to the cutwater minimum point, has a maximum orthogonal distance from the inner surface being at most 15% of the length of the profile chord.
